if they never called your husband back then he must not have been the best worker or a trouble maker. deka always calls people back. i was laid off and then got called back my first year there. i'm glad i work for a reputable company---they are getting harder to find these days. deka also moves workers from slow buildings to the busier buildings to keep people working. a measure of a good company is how long they retain employees...there are many people there with 25+ years. i agree with you on one thing...thank God they never called your husband back.

Perhaps you dont know the difference between 1000 and 100.....1000-100=900 that means deka retained what 900. What is crazy is your response to that story. Have you seen how much money Deka has reinvested in itself? I dare you to find another company that can do that in this current market. DUH>>>>>*< <<<<<

Hey jessika...Im going to assume you are talking about what they hired, and not the WORK FORCE...They are nearly 5300 strong...So the 100 person lay off took them to 5200...Not to mention the 100 they did lay off, that have paid benefits for 2 months, They are also calling back those 100 people from time to time to reup their 2 month benefit period...Unfortunately as stated earlier, Your husband was most likely not called back due to having to many days off, or poor work performance. They always call back. also as mentioned previously, they moved people around as much as possible to avoid the layoff...However they could only do so much...Paying for a workers benefits while they are off, and also reupping them for another 2 months after they come back to work for a day...Tell me where else you can find that in the county...

My last day with the company is coming up in a couple days. I put in my two weeks notice and then changed my mind but they told me that I was not allowed to do that and that I still need to leave. Even though there is nobody to replace me because they are not hiring anyone and just fired all our temps and BMT's. It is a great company to work for I just wanted to try something else then realize what I was going to be losing.

i know dozens of people that work there and have for years and unless you are a moron 40+ production worker it is a **** place to work. That is a fact. I set up robotics for manufacturing facilities all over the country and I promise if you can be replaced by a robot you will. That would be a lot of robots though and they are quite expensive. I'm sure they are saving up. Oh and they didn't call him back because they could give a **** less about people. Even DANA has people with over 50 years, don't mean **** . Anyone getting mad in this thread is a bitter, obsessed production worker with no life and never did anything else. You are clown shoes.
