This is one poor piece of journalism. Why didn't this article report on the other side of this story?

There were many citizens who spoke at last night's public hearing on Seeno's (Discovery Builders) revised Business Park project who gave substantial reasons why, in fact, the revised project has NOT sufficiently resolved many significant General Plan inconsistencies. Many of these citizens are attorneys, city planners, and professional environmental analysts with qualifications just as good or better than city staff and LSA (the EIR consultant).

Further, the revised project (presented as an EIR Addendum) does not include detailed quantitative data to substantiate its claims that GP inconsistencies have been resolved.

Citizens also pointed out that the 216 Conditions that city staff has attached to project approval are a mere fig leaf that cannot be trusted to protect the city's interests, given Seeno's long history of agreement violations, law breaking, and use of litigation.

This is the biggest development project in Benicia's history and will have a permanent impact on the quality of Benicia's future. To get an alternative perspective on the issues involved, see www.beniciafirst.blogspot.com , and www.beniciafirst.com

Citizens had better wake up and pay attention. With the deadline for approval June 3, they had better call, write, and attend the City Council meetings on May 20 and June 3 and make their concerns heard, because counting on city staff and LSA to protect our interests is beginning to look like counting on the fox to guard the hen house.

Can the citizens of Benicia get any of the poor slobs in Antioch and Pittsburg that have been steamrolled by Seeno to come to a board meeting? Or perhaps they could contact the Fish & Game Department to have them talk to the fact that Seeno was grading hills without a permit, in protected lands and in the wrong season. Does he care? No, he puts aside money to cover the fines that he knows will come along and he just keeps going.

Can anyone identify a Seeno project that is "visionary"?

"Visionary", sure, check out these visual photos:

This vision is a larger PDF file to download, but it's easy to see the "vision".
