Keep dumping money on Georgia Street. The only people that use it are city employees.

Lindy Pickens? Can't you get a real taxpayer for comments regarding their streets. Quoting this person is indicative of the "good ol' boy mentality" between the city and the Chamber of Commerce.

The city council has squandered and shifted money away from the infrastructure of this city. There is nothing to be proud of in a trash, criminal invested, going nowhere community. But, that's always the way Vallejo has been run, and always will be run.

Good luck, suckers.

Don't expecct much relief from the gasoline sales tax as the governor and legislature will seize these funds to offset their huge deficit.

Sorry, we cannot afford to fix the roads. We spent all our money on fat benefit and retirement paciages for public employees.

The rest of us will need to learn to live with bad roads and meager benefit and retirement packages, at least by comparison with our public employees.

I am going to send the bill for my new shocks (and I drive a jeep, a tough 'lil guy) to the city.

I am fully expecting to have to use 4 wheel drive to get out of a pot hole soon.

I am just darn glad I don't have a Mustang anymore, for I would need more than shocks. Sure do miss it, tho.

As it is, we all get lots of practice at defensive driving skills skittering this way and that to avoid the potholes.

Casual, where is your humor? Need a beverage, perhaps frosty?

Yet another example of the money being hidden in the city budgets. That money for street repair should be allocated to the general fund to pay we brave PSU workers. Besides, the streets aren't that bad. Georgia was resealed down to the police station which was needed but otherwise, you people complaining are just whiners. Buck up!

Christ, I just heard that one of McCain's advisors said that "there is no recession and the monetary problems that we have are in our minds and we are just a nation of whiners." Face the Nation, Sunday AM

Wow, I am so glad that all of the money that is disappearing from my pocket is just my imagination. I suppose I will find the money soon. I do have a tendency to misplace things. I'll stop whining about it and look for it.

LMAO, yes I know. A little crabby this AM.

Too early for the frosty but I am chugging some good coffee.

You know my passion is about the GD streets and their disrepair, but my sarcasm is equal opportunity so watch out.

Boy do I hear you there. My poor little roadster has been twisted, banged and bottomed out by some of these streets. I think I'll buy a Jeep for driving around Vallejo and drive my roadster only outside of the city.

Why don't we just rent out the streets to Discovery Kingdom, billing them as their new "ride". A little speed down some of our death traps equals any thrill they can get from a roller coasters at the park.

Of course! But, only the proceeds going to fix the streets, not to pay salaries ;)

Isn't it ironic that the city wants homeowners to be responsible for the sidewalk in front of their property, but yet the city can not even maintain the streets. Pretty soon you are going to hear them barking about homeowners being responsible for the streets in front of their properties.

Sad.

I think the city just needs to pay our repair build on any front end work we need done to our cars. It would save the pain of road repair, i had to completely rebuild the whole front end of my dodge because all the rubber slowly broke out and fell off the car. why do we always repair streets that are just fine to begin with?? I don't see Florida st on that list. Sacramento st is getting really bad too. if you go by Lincoln elementary school the brick streets are coming through the pavement, this has been happening since i was like 6 years old.

right on guy, and the good news is soon both the fire departmant and police vehicles will be falling in these holes and then won't be able to respond to a single call making them the most expensive departments that just gets to sit on their butts as they will not be able to get out of the stations. when they become that useless they then can be terminated for not being needed at all.

Hopefully when this happens the FD is responding to an emergency to your House and they can't get there..

Pass the abalone Steve! The condition of our roads is a perfect example of the fact that safety unions care only for their salaries and gold palted contracts. The unfortunate part of the flipside of PSU greed is that we (the citizens are used to getting by with NOTHING) our roads are an embarrassement, our salary packages for safety emnployees is delusional, our lack of support for libraries and non-profits is telling along with the chapter 9 pleadings from safety employees, their business partners and mentally challenged citizens that above all else want the BK judge to buy the necessity for their gold plated contracts, retirees receiving 90 plus percent of their last year of salaries with fully paid medical benefits that most of us paying the bills don't even dream of receiving.

So, now PS is responsable for the running of the Corp Yard!! Good One. Ask yourself this, How long has the City Council Known about the availability of the $ 3.8 million from the state for street repairs??? Why Did the City not file for this money months ago? I'm sorry were not the private sector, and you like myself don't plat major league baseball either..
Ask this, why dose Tanner make $ 80,000 more than the City Managers in Fairfield and vacaville?

You tell them Steve! And Casual Observer, any additional revenues this city makes even if it is a thrill ride on the streets should be earmarked for we brave PSU's pockets. If this keeps up I may have to send my kids to public school here in Napa! What a bunch of whiners you are in Vallejo. Too lazy to buy some Sacrete and fill in the potholes in front of their houses themselves!

Because we payed to have a better City Manager. But perhaps you would prefer we hire Deborah Edgerly? I hear she is looking for a new job now that Delums has fired her.
