Sorry to hear that. Hope it comes up. Hopefully, the person will feel shame and turn it over. HE knows who did it. :)

First of all, the "art" was missing after a show in Napa. One could speculate that it was taken because it was either so bad (for $1200!?) or someone was offended by the blasphemous nature of it. Personally, I felt it was gallacticly silly. Remember the Chocolate Jesus? Whenever an artist treads in this level of controversy, expect extreme reactions.

There's a link to the artist's site. http://www.michaelwittels.com with a picture of the "art". It was supposedly taken by a guy who worked at the gallery.

Thanks Jerry, for that link. I can now say to Wittels, you blasphemous slimy little arteest! Get a real job; your "art" is nothing but crap! Here's an idea... go to the drycleaners to get your tutu; take the wrapper off, wring it into a rope; hang it from a tree branch (near you own house); then light the lower portion with a match. Now THERE is performance recycling "art." The rest of your stuff needs to be in Napa State Hospital, WITH you. Oh dear me, call in the grief counselors! PR, PR!!!

You are so right, AmCam! This guy Wittels is obviously not a God fearing Christian. Bet he's a Scientologist or even an anarchist. These arteests are out of control in this country. It's no wonder the NEA has become one of the most hated organizations in the US (next to the ACLU)! I can't help but recall the great Henry Ford's comment: "Art is Bunk."

sigh.... when will people actually READ the constitution and realize that one of our freedoms is that of speech, which means not only words but images and art... sigh.... theft is theft.... um... it's that one of the Christian commandments, thou shall not steal?

Yeah, that's the real crime. Whoever "stole" it was probably paid by the slimeball "artist" just to get the publicity like that "artist" who made the Virgin Mary out of Elephant Dung or the one that put Jesus in urine and threw it at the Pope. They just do it to get pubicity and then sell it to idiot's who pay millions, they don't care who they insult

MontyCantsin, what is worse is that some idiot WILL eventually plunk down the $1200 for that piece of melted plastic, thereby rewarding the life style of said "Art-eeeest."
