Teachers and their unions have been picking my pocket for decades. Kinda nice to see the shoe on the other foot for once. What goes around comes around I guess. Hahahahaha

Big balls and no brains.. It probably didn't occur to her that there are cameras everywhere these days. Shouldn't be too hard to catch her.

That's interesting... you don't sound that educated so maybe you should have let teachers take a few more years of your pay.

Actually when you consider it's a job that only exist for about 9 months of the year, it doesn't pay that bad. And before you respond with the predictable rebuttal, yeah member of my immediate family ARE teachers.

It's also called supply and demand.

All that aside there is no reason to be stealing from ANYONE, even teachers, regardless of how you feel about teachers or their union. Lock her up and force her to pay restitution to the victims. If she's a mother you may as well just put her kids into foster homes, because with her as an example they'd end up as criminals, so let's see if we can cut that one off at the pass.

It's a sad day anytime a theft happens, let alone when it happens at work. I find it scary that this person got in and out of the school without being detected. What if their intention was physical harm, rather than theft? Obviously, schools are busy places with lots of people coming and going, so we can't expect them to see and hear everything. So, I'm not being critical of school personnel. I'm just dismayed at the lack of respect this person is showing for the school community. As a society, we should all work to keep learning environments safe. That should start with our own attitudes and actions. When they catch this person, I hope she has lots of time to practice her subtraction skills, crossing days off of the calendar one-by-one.

Have they checked to see if she was a substitute or parent volunteer? If she was, it would be easy enough to see what name was signed in at Mahtomedi and Lake Elmo on those days, wouldn't it?

As an employee of the Mahtomedi School Dist. in another building, I would of liked to have been alerted to this by the District before I read about it here.

If you think teachers have it so easy for those nine months just join them in the class room these days. Oh yea then the other three months work hard at your own expense to keep your teaching license up to date. Have the parents try to get you fired, admin trying to play nice to parents and some good kids but a bunch of not so good. Class rooms have one teacher to over 35 kids. the teacher could use your help if you qualify to help.
As for the thief, well she gets in some how alright might be one of the parents.

I am surprised they didn't go door to door at the school to see who knew her. The thefts happened at the school so someone let her in and she made her way around unquestioned so someone knew her. And yes, you should have been alerted to this person.

Or the cost of education that leads to ignorance--now that's double-dipping!
