It has been a historic week for transit in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The state's five most populous counties have agreed to raise the sales tax to fund transit projects.

Tax. Tax. Tax. Tax. Tax. Tax. Tax.
Raise them all. Add new ones.
I don't care.
Minnesotans are twits and pull the lever in the voting booth for anyone and everyone with "DFL" or "Democrat" after their name on the ballot then bit#h about being soaked!
Me, I'm only here temporarily for business reasons and am looking forward to retiring and moving to a taxpayer friendly state in 2010.
You twits vote these tax and spend clowns into office, you twits can live with them.

Every time I play SimCity, I overbuild the public transit, none of the Sims ride it, and my city goes bankrupt.

If you'd stop playing that silly game and get a job, you could pay me rent and I could help the economy. I'd also appreciate it if you'd pick up your clothes. I love you, but you really need to get your act together.

But that Sims game does prove your point, I'll admit.

I ride the bus... I would much rather pay a higher fare per ride than be taxed. What a joke.... its unending. I like how they pat each other on the back and say "bit the bullet" real tough to spend other peoples money. Ugh

Seriously? Who, writes these things? Some assistant to a democratic lawmaker? It reads like a bad propaganda piece and has so much "B.S." included in it that the thing stinks so bad I can smell it even though I am reading it online!

What ever happened to newspapers and the media simply researching and presenting the FACTS and allowing us, the people to decide what we support and dont support? Where does an editorial like this come from and where in any of this editorial is any sort of supporting facts to support the general opinion in the first place?

What a load of........!!

Did the people of the counties vote or just the county commissioners? Silly question. They would never let the people make the "tough" choices.

They are in overdrive because they can't cope with the fact that the political landscape is changeing beneath them. The MN republican party is quickly going the same was as the IL republicans, who had to look in Maryland to ran whacko radio personality Alan Keyes as a senate candidate, after their candidate washed out in a sex scandal. We now have Democratic Governor and Legislature, and a Democrat just won a special election to fill DENNIS HASTERT's seat.
The clowns, parinoids, and generally confused and fearful are all that is left. That's what gets those righty-tighty fingers tappins so hard on the keyboards!

And before you start in about "outsiders" commenting on MN (like you were inbred degenerates sitting in front of your lean-to), be aware that I spend lots of time in both spots.

Now that is refreshing, a bus rider who thinks there is nothing wrong with fares being high enough to cover the costs of operation! Yahoo!!

"Fares high enough to cover the costs of operation" would shut down every transit system in America. Every single one. There are valid reasons for mass transit to exist, and real economic reasons for governments to subsidize them. Period.

No, grew up there, visit friends and family, contribute to the local economy because I make lots more money than you do as there are more opportunities in an actual city. I think you need to worry more about home grown scum such as some residents of Ely MN. if you really want to clean things up in your glass house.

You might consider changing your tone to avoid giving the impression that MN is a xenophobic wasteland.

I used to read your posts, especially the one where you actually looked up the number of people who ride the Hiawatha line each day, and admitted that the number equalled entire population of Richfield. But now I see that you just spew divisive, untruthful cheap shots. Reply if you want to, but don't expect a response.

Yeah, I can see why you would spend some time here. The welfare benefits are more generous than Illinois'. You, along with the other welfare gravy train riders between here and there.
Do us a favor and stay there, will ya?

So every time I come from Pine County to go to shopping, I get to pay a premium so you folks can play with your toy trains? Why not a user fee taken from those who ride the choo-choo?

Mail oder looks better and better.

Red Ryder,
Do you really live in such fear of your fellow countrymen? Long ago I asked someone to provide statistics as to the fatality rate of LRT/Bus riders at the hands of phantom criminal elements on public trasit compared to the deathrate of I-94 drivers/passengers. Never got a reaponse from any of the people who talk about the unsavories on the bus. Instead, just more commentary loaded down with intolerance and igorance. Sorry to hear you hate Americans so much that you have to protect your self with nonsense.
There seems to be a lot of talk from people who don't actually go see for themselves.
You really are a wussie - afraid of your shadow and probably worried about the monsters in your closet and under your bed too.
And why are you bringing Islam into this? First, you can actually praise Allah and not be a criminal, and second, it sounds like in your desparation you are brining a non-sequitor topic into the discussion to divert attention from the fact that you're out of ideas.
