Would sure like to know the background of these two. Were they former military pilots or flight school grads?

Lets sum it up.

Two former Northweat (now Delta) pilots would rather review the scheduling system to try to figure out if they are going to have to work more than 20 hours this month and neglect their core job of actually flying the plane.

Bye Bye

We SHOULD rush to judgment. The union comment is the reason why unions have lost credibility. When people clearly are wrong, they should take their punishment and not make excuses or try to minimize what they did. These pilots should NEVER be allowed to fly again.

So they tied for last? Must have slept through the class that talked about responsibility.

The FAA revoked those to pilots licenses. I think their laptop story is a complete lie. As far as I know NWA/DAL planes do not have WiFi capabilities. If they had the flight schedule bid data saved as files on their computers it would have been possible, but I do not think the Airbuses have a 110 volt outlet on them. The older B727/747 did, but I do not remember a newer Boeing having that. It is even more unlikely that the European Buses have the 110 v outlet because Eurpoeans use a different volt/freq than America, and airplanes as a whole use a common but different volt/freq then residential. Therefore it is pretty unlikely that the laptop batteries could have lasted over an hour.

Regardless the Law/FAA should obatain the laptops and examine them since the pilots statements have made them a essential piece of evidence.

my laptop batteries last 6 hours. Some Delta planes have wifi, but this was a NWA plane. Airbus 330 have outlets that are compatible with US voltage systems. Get your facts straight.

"Northwest 188, contact Minneapolis approach 118.725."

"Northwest 188, acknowledge: contact Minneapolis approach 118.725."

"Uh Denver, standby. We're trying to finish Jade Dynasty here..."

"Northwest 188, this is Kansas City Center, Denver handed you off an hour ago. Contact Minneapolis approach 118.725..."

Or something like that. So do they lose all flight privileges or just commercial jet?

Well, whatever they were doing and it sure wasn't laptops, maybe lap dances, I hope it was worth it. Good luck re-engineering your career in your mid-50's, especially with the absolutely worthless non-transferable pilot skills.

The union pres is smoking the same stuff they were in the cockpit. So they admit they did something dumb and he doesn't think it should be released. Nice.

What worries me is that they did not say what they really were doing. The laptop story is just that, a story...
