The Morning Call
City oasis is a fountain for youth
The newest play spot at Bethlehem's Yosko Park made a big splash Tuesday. Sweltering underneath the humid summer sky, hundreds of children couldn't wait until the ceremonial ribbon was cut before they ran into ...

The MC never stops to amaze me. No mention of where this park is in the city. Monacacy? Who knows. All we know is that some place in the city there is a water park. You would think the address would be in the first paragraph.

Novice reporter? Who, what, when, where, why. I guess 4 out of 5 ain't bad. Where the he11 is Yosko Park?
|
|
I give 2 months and the animals on the south side will start to destroy it.

Once again, Bethlehem shows the toilet of allentown up... When is the mayor of allentown going to provide some kind of positive stimulus?? Or did he QUIT again? Not sure, his face has not been seen for a while, I guess he is still hiding after trying to hire part-time police officers behind the back of APD. What a maroon!!

I found an article from last week. I guess they didn't want to mention where it was twice...
http://www.mcall.com/news/local/bethlehem/all... "Bethlehem decided to install a spray park in Yosko, a neighborhood park at Sixth and Atlantic streets, that features a pool, basketball court and play equipment. About a third of the property, Carp said, had been underused since the baby pool was filled in decades ago." |

First, I needed to agree with the other posters that this reporter needs to GIVE AN ADDRESS!
Second, d-ceved, Allentown has two splash parks; Buck Boyle at Gordon & Front St, and the other is at 5th and Allen, they are both great! |
|
Allentown has had two functional splash parks for a couple of years now. |

If the posts here are correct regarding the location, I fully agree. The life expectancy of public property at 6th & Atlantic in Bethlehem is exceptionally low. There is a perverse psychology that compels the "have-nots" of this country to show their disdain for the "haves" by destroying property. In this case, that problem is easily solved. No investment equals no destruction. |

Wow, and you don't even have to put coins in and pull a lever for enjoyment!!

That money could have been used for cancer research, or to help pay the uninsured's ridiculously high hospital bills. Want success? Help the people and they will help you back ...

Wow, you folks are negative, and apparently uniformed.

|

Oops, typo. I meant "uninformed."
|
|
Your an idiot, and so is the Morning Call for not mentioning Allentown has has two of these for over several years now. |
|
Yep..Isn't it amazing that the police had to stand guard overnight when they were not working so that the savages didn't destroy this project before it got started. |
|
|
It is good that the kids have something to enjoy. Now all you parents help the cops and report ANYONE screwing around with this stuff. Maybe a few more of these will help cool everyone down.

You are trash. |

Just also want to say to the people who complain on just about every blog how the morning call sucks, STOP READING IT AND STOP POSTING. Thank you.

You couldn't be more correct in your above statement, "True American". A cement water park?! Are you kidding me?! Every public pool I've ever had the displeasure of visiting has always had one major rule; "no running". And now, what does this park encourage?? Running through a water tunnel...I'm baffled. I give this place through mid-August before it's shut down due to a pending lawsuit, violence, vandalism or a combination of all three. And for those of you who are complaining about the MC not posting the address...If you don't know where Yosko Park is, you're better off. My Dad and Grandparents grew up on the South Side, so I've heard a lot about it through the years. And the overwhelming conclusion is that since the 70's, this place was synonymous with trouble. Be happy you don't know where it is. |
|
uuuh.. it states, and i quote, "Yosko Park". Seems to state a location to me. I doubt they will provide driving directions. Although that only takes a quick google search in today's world. |

It's called freedom of speech Bangor / aka the 1st Amendment. I would tend to believe you're correct about negative posts, but who cares. Just be happy we're (still) allowed to say these things in public. Try living in communist China for a month or two and I bet you'd swim across the Pacific to get back to reading the posts (negative or positive)on the MC site. Just pray that Political Correctness/American Civil Liberties Union doesn't interfere anymore w/ our right to free speech...which unfortunately they most likely will. |
