Obama is wrong on abortion

Barack Obama 's speech on fatherhood on Father's Day should be applauded. However, I want to point out some inconsistancies.

Obama may have a pro-choice position on abortion ... but he is pro-life on other important pro life issues: war, capital punishment, justice for the poor, need to help the less fortunate. If one chooses to vote or not vote for Obama/McCain simply on "pro-life" positions ... make sure you examine all pro-life positions of the candidate!

It is simply your OPINION that abortion is wrong. Expecting everyone else to abide by your opinion, however strongly you may feel, is audacious.

Boy Ryan, you sure can twist things around to fit your purpose.

What you said is totally illogical in the context presented.

I bet it's fun to try and have a conversation with you- NOT.

Try living a real life sometime!

Ryan,

Excellent point. Obama does speak out of both sides of his mouth. The fact is that most radical liberals do. That is their trademark.

Even radical liberals know that it is Republican ideas like pro-life that wins elections. That is why many times they will talk of Republican ideas even though it is only a speech. But notice they will never ever actually favor activities and laws that do what they talk about. Because that is not what they actually believe and want.

Black people by and large, I believe, are socially conservative. They want the same things that others want to raise a descent family. They love God and they want the best for their families. They are no different than anyone else. That is the real reason Obama made such a Republican statement. To appeal to all "Republican" voters of all colors.

For Cross, Gun & Oil.

Once again, a man commenting on abortion. Until you have a uterus, please don't talk about it.

So, he all for keeping murders alive, and killing unborn children. Pathetic. By the way, I am female.

All around the country pregnant woman are drinking high nitrates in there water thanks to overfertilizing by our farmers. Here in Brandonville Schuylkill County I think there could be at least thirteen babies that died and my grandaughter was a bluebaby. Noone care about farmers planting cancer and now sewage upgrades to remove fertilizers are being paid for by the taxpayers. Are supervisors here are forcing us into sewage at a time when we cannot afford it because of the price of ethanol. The newsmedia here is responsible because they are in hidding to coverup what is happening here to protect are lawmakers. Abortion doesnt even come near what is happening here.

Jerry - if you look at the polls, a majority of the nation is pro-choice.

Republicans win elections because of bible thumping, bleeting sheep, like you.

I just want to clarify what I REALLY wrote to The Morning Call. I respect everyone's comments and opinions because after all this is a free country, but The Morning Call did not present my letter to the editor in a fair manner, by editing my opposing view. Just shows how liberal and pro-Obama the paper is. Here is the real text and a link to prove it from The Express-Times.

Barack Obama's speech on fatherhood at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago on Father's Day was something that should be applauded. It was something that many men need to be reminded of. However, I want to point out some inconsistencies Obama has made during his campaign.

During his fatherhood speech he mentions that a father's "responsibility does not end at conception. We need (fathers) to realize that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child -- it's the courage to raise one." He also goes on to mention how "(his) life revolves around (his) two little girls" and how parents must "set an example of excellence for (their) children."

The inconsistency is that although no human is perfect, he has set one bad example for his children and that topic is abortion. At a town hall meeting in March in Johnstown, Pa., Obama was asked about educating the youth about sex and he stated that he is "going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

What kind of example is he setting for his children, youth, and the fathers and parents he just asked to be courageous? To anyone struggling with a decision to keep their unborn child, just remember that your child may have a question for you: Can I live?

Here is another contridiction for you ryan. A fetus is not a baby. It cannot talk. Most conservatives are pro-birth, not pro-life.

He's talking about raising children that are born, that suffer physically and emotionally because of absent or poor parenting. A fetus suffers none of these things. If a woman becomes pregnant and is happy and willing to give birth to and raise the child, fine. If a woman becomes pregnant and does not feel she is in a position to carry, give birth to and raise that child, then forcing that woman to carry the child is indeed punishment.

Whose choice? Certainly not the one being exterminated...

If you feel that abortion is wrong, that’s fine. I respect that. However, a law about the issue is moronic. Saying abortion is wrong is an OPINION which is most commonly biased off of religious beliefs....which is to say insanity.

...and your point is?!!!! Your letter is still a minority view in this country!..and very ytpical of how ANTI-LIFE people like yourself(you don't give a damm what happens to the kid after they are born unwantedly) twist anything they have the opportunity to do so to make thire point. Why didn't you say that Cindy McCain's beer "empire" gets millions of women drunk, they loose thier inhibitions and get pregnant?..a twist? but closer to the truth than your letter.

If you want to use Obama's thought why punish a father with a baby? It's punishment for girls but responsible and couragous for fathers? Is this flip flopping?
