Too bad he didn't shoot them both in their elbows, so their mommies would have to wipe their backsides for them, for several month, while they healed. Maybe she'd swat them and teach them a thing or two, this time, since somebody failed, in raising them

Sounds like this guy Pierce did what he needed to do to protect himself. I hope he is OK. Shooting another person, no matter what the circumstances is not a small matter. I am glad he escaped uninjured and hope that the muggers are held fully accountable for what they did.

Execution for attempted robbery- Is that what they do in Wind Gap?

Lets see, how about:

30 lashes for jaywalking.

Amputation of a hand for passing on the right.

Loss of eyes for peeping.

Sound good? Well if you're 'In the know' you'll move to Wind Gap, the newest Islamic city!

Well done is my opinion too. Although I have to disagree on the empty the clip comment. I know exactly what you mean by it but look at it this way. Now Pierce still has ammo left to take care of business another day. Not emptying the magazine tells me he was in control at time of panic. Well done indeed!!!

Well don Mr. Pierce. I guess these Jersey gang bangers do not realize that here in Pennsyltucky that people lawfully carry handguns. If you attempt to do a Jersey/NYC style mugging, you are likely to get shot. Especially if it is the quintesential (sp?) "white boy"!! I laugh at these two pieces of dirt. I spit on them their ilks who think that they are so tough and will take what they want when they want. More law abidding citizens in the Valley should apply for and secure handgun permits and protect themselves. Take proper training and perps beware. To the perps that are educated and smart enough to read these boards, my advice, BEWARE. The next white boy you try to mug in Easton, Allentown, the Mall or wherever, may indeed shoot you. Welcome to Pennsyltucky boys Cook and Wright.(I will not even extend the common courtesy of calling either of these two "Mr.")

If he victim Pierce can fight fire with fire...why can't the judicial system. I bet you 10 to 1, Cook & Wright have been in front of judges benches in the past. If our system was as tough as Pierce, I don't think they'd have had the wimpy balls they waltz around breaking the law and then lying...I say, if you are caught in a lie after a crime, punish them for that AFTER they serve the sentence for the crime. We always STOP short of proper punishment. The criminals knew they had little to risk and if you get shot by your victim, LIE about it all.

first, hats off to Mr. Pierce - he is a TRUE AMERICAN! Now - let's address the Lost American poster. You must be a naive person who does not agree with the unalienable right to protect yourself. this was not a case of Attempted Robbery as you put it - it was Attempted ARMED Robbery where the scumbags, drain on society, pieces of sh!t posed an immediate threat to Mr. Pierce's life. Do you understand that concept - they were threatening his life! Should we just lay done in the face of this threat or do we fight back! Fighting back in cases like this are exactly the backbone of the founding of this county. Not 30 lashes for jaywalking - that's the stupidest analogy I've ever heard.

Thank you, Mr. Pierce, for a textbook explanation of how to defend yourself. CCW's are an extra difficulty inserted by the bleeding hearts, but as demonstrated here, they are managable for the clear thinking. Unholstering prior and unloading afterwards as well placing weapon in plain view are worthwhile details -- kudos to the reporter who could have swept them under the rug.

I also say though, that if you are going to shoot, shoot at center mass, I'm sure that punk would have, and pop off two rounds just to be sure!!!!!

Thre only thing I don't like about the story is the part about Mr. Pierce aiming for the legs. This whiteboy only aims for the head. A headshot would have save alot of money since I'm guessing he didn't have medical insurance for his surgery.
Why did he fire the first shot in the air? Still good for him.

Mr. Pierce is my hero! But learn a lesson from police tactics: don't shoot to warn or wound - if you have to shoot it is incapacitate.
