Okay, for months now, I haven't watered my lawn, I have been replacing grass with native plantsand butterfly plants. My yard is now certified by the National Wildlife Federation and I have several different breeds of butterflies that are coming to my yard, laying eggs. I am using water from various sources, like collected rain water, a glass my kids didn't finish, if I clean out the turtle tank, it all goes on a plant, not just down the drain. I have hand watered only when completely necessary. As the plants become established, this is less than once a week. Today it rained, nothing will need water for several days, In the mean time, the guys across the street have been washing thier cars three times a week, while I have even managed to get my two teenage children to shorten their showers. Yet no restrictions on car washing are being established.

If I water my lawn once a week and I have to replace my sod is the government going to repay me? No. So screw you. If you were realy interested in conservation our borders would be secure. It's the rise in population caused by refugees that is causing shortages. Gasoline will be next.

The incompetent and corrupt members of the different county governments are the only ones responsible for this situation. They are the ones who's hands are "greased" by the developers in order to get constructions permits without regard to the negative impact on natural resources provoked by an uncontrolled population explosion. Their pockets are filled with "coimas" and now the decent residents have to pay for their corruption. This is a preveiling situation in Florida, a place contaminated with politicians with a "foreign" background.

Developers have built and impacted the area with no responsibility of the impact. The impact is here and now.

Until water restrictions are removed there should be no more major developments approved by any political part of "Their Gov't"
If you can not bribe, you can not play, I can't wash my car for the weekend, but a 30 story hi-rise might get approved if the price is right.

Exactly who decided what the exact water level should be in the ugliest lake in the USA? That is the biggest pile of crap yet.....it's funny how a state surrounded by water on 3 sides doesn't have any.......if you believe that, then I have a great "waterfront" property for sale just north of Alligator Alley! Water up people.....there is PLENTY!

HKS, if you want to drink the water that surrounds this state, feel free. The drinkable water available, without spending money for desalination, is running out because it hasn't been replenished and the idiots let out too much last year in prep for hurricanes that never happened.

Water restrictions should apply for washing cars, too. It's a waste of water unless done correctly.

I'm glad I'm not there anymore.

When are you morons going to understand that water is a finite resource that CAN run out with overuse and overpopulation. Do any of you people know what the word "conservation" means, or like your **** president you think it's your god given right to waste....idiots.
CONSERVE........for christ's sake.

As long as the only way to get elected in Florida is to say you will not raise taxes, no water catchment resources to sustain us through periods of low rainfall will be developed. Don't blame politicians or developers- look in the mirror.

If you this it's dry now then just wait till DR Horton (Toho Preserve) and the other DRIs that the commissioners love start building. According to the commissioners and I mean all the commissioners we have pleanty of water to support the the additional 100,000 people they are ready to approve with the pending DRIs. They just approved the first 5-0 and just can't wait to vote the same way for the remaining 5 DRIs. Business as usual for Osceola County. I guess after they vote for all of the new building projects they will retire and move to Tenn. and leave the rest of us with the mess they created.
