1) Where are they going to get police officers to staff such an event? They cannot even staff the normal shifts to protect citizens

2) Who is paying the police and overtime tab? The citizens again!

When I was younger I loved this type of event. Too many young people get a bad rap these days. I say let them have some fun.

BRING BACK THE AIR-SEA SHOW!!!

We do NOT need a stupid concert and all the problems that will bring. The Air-Sea show was a wonderful event enjoyed by FAMILIES of all ages!

Anyone who votes for this garbage over the Air-Sea show should be fired!!!

Please explain the rationale for eliminating a family event as the Air Sea Show to a concert atmosphere for a select group...

Dont they already have Sunfest? So the commisioners are scared of having to take a pay cut and struggle like the rest of the city, now theyre scrambling for profit rather than improvement...

Screw this concert, Screw the air and sea show, at least Spring Break brought money without sponsorship. Screw the Spring Breakers/Tourists right?

A music festival would be a great idea. However, the sea show brought together all types of people. A music festival is usually based on one genre of music.

Austin does a music festival every year. They have it set up so that all types of music are covered. The old people go during the day and the young people go at night. Multiple stages and types of music.

I don't like the idea of this being at the beach though. There is enough garbage being dumped into the ocean and onto the beaches. Have it at one of the parks that the city says that it can't afford.

I think the idea stinks. Who needs it. Why not something for all ages like a seafood festival or something?

The music festival needs to have acts that span every genre and time. You don't want one type of demo to overtake the beach. It will be nice to have a flow of fans over a weekend.

I was in Rio last year, on the beach, watching Macy Grey live on stage (wow!!). Trust me when I tell you...do NOT want allow this kind of event here. After having the Rolling Stones and finally permitting the Live Aid concert last July, the city of Rio de Janeiro will NEVER allow another live show on the beach.

The beach becomes one giant toilet as mass consumption of alcohol causes "sudden" urges to go. Trust me, the only people who will make money on this will be the concert promoters - not the city.

Won't this be a great opportunity for the Fort Lauderdale cops to shoot taxpayers to death with there new AR-15 assault rifles.

We could call it Slaughter Fest!

Why can't we compete with Sunfest. I think it is a good idea for a replacement of the Air & Sea Show. If you would have kept abreast of the situation, Live Nation would be paying for the security. This would not be a free event.
