To all and sundry:
After the last two years here on Topix, and over 20,000 posts, I've learned a couple of rather important things.
1 - Bigotry is easy for people when they are anonymous.
2 - Topix is not representative of the American public, or even ts sentiments.
3 - There are a lot of people who put a lot of effort into remaining willfully uninformed. And a bunch of them find there way here, where they can complain and make fun of and say all manner of nasty thins they'd never have the courage to say in their daily life.
For the last several months, I've popped in and out at various intervals. I spend the bulk of my time working for 200 bucks a month helping transfolk recover from and deal with the crap that comments of the sort that most of you have left regarding Thomas Beattie, his daughter, and his wife tend to create.
I come every now and then because encountering the sort of horsecrap that ya'll post is actually invigorating.
Its like walking across hot coals and ground glass mixed together in bare feet on a 115 degree day.
(which I've done. Once. Don't ask.)
Whenever I do it, I start out pretty calm. After a day or so, I get riled. Then I get ****. And, inevitably, somewhere along the way, people suddenly start dragging my personal appearance into the discussion, as if that has any bearing on anything.
I have, right under my picture to the left there, my email address. Its a fairly simply one to use, and most folks have the ability to write an email.
Some people use it. THe one's that do, they ask questions. THey want to learn a little.
I can only think of maybe three emails I've ever gotten that have been ugly (and I get at least three each time I put in hours here asking for sexually explicit photos or a chance meeting for a quickie, as if I'm some sort of prostitute to be found on craigslist or some such).
I hold multiple advanced degrees and have been a business woman all my life. I've been rich, and I've been poor, and Ive done it again.
I fought for this country, for the freedom of these people to say these stupid, asinine things even when they don't know what they are talking about.
So thank you, all of you. Both the bigots with their deceitful, hypocritical concern, and those very few who have come to thomas' defense.
You are the reason I work so hard to change laws, to speak before groups and educate, to lobby politicians, to work with fortune 1000 companies, to get faith based and community initiative block grants and insure that the people that right now are at the bottom of society get their equal due as citizens of the United States.
You people make what I do every day worthwhile, simply by being the bigots you are.
Its nice to know I have job security.
I'll see ya around in the fora.
And some of you I'll see in the polls in a few years.
Anyone who wants to write an email and actually learn something about transsexuals, feel free. Just add the @ sign and a .com and you got it.
Heck, anyone who wants to make fun of my appearance, go right right ahead as well.
I don't mind.
Its why I put it there.
See ya on my next round

They weren't teased any more than the other children - and if almost zero cases, not specifically for those reasons.

And that's what happened here.

Not lock them way, prevent disgusting travesties like this from happening. This is against natural law and as we all know IT'S NOT NICE TO FOOL MOTHER NATURE. Are you one of these sick "transgenders" as well, whatever that means. You poor confused soul.

I couldn't make it past the first two points I quoted above because it is crystal clear you are wrong. Most folks here would actually physically attack a freak man dressed as a woman if they were at the park near children, and most of America agrees (including GAYS!!!) that you trans folks are whacked in the head.
Seek help, you need it.

If this he/she wanted to be a man, it should have surgery to remove its female genitals. I have never heard of such a thing a woman wants to be a man but keep the female genitals. You cant have your cake and eat it too. it wants to me a man loose the female genitals and have surgery to get male genitals.
I FEEL BAD FOR THIS KID BEING BORN TO A HE/SHE. THIS IS ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING!

Gods warrior wrote: <quoted text> You live in a fantasy land if you believe any of the drivel you just typed. There is a perfect explanation..Cognitive Dissonance. It's a psychological state that describes the uncomfortable feeling between what one holds to be true and what one knows to be true. Dyssonance is a textbook case of it....and IMO also a transgender. He is just sticking up for his kind.

Congratulations to the family. A loved, wanted, and cherished child has been born.
Would you people be happy if it was a crack baby, FAS baby, flushed down a toilet, thrown in the trash, murdered by its mother, aborted because wearing a condom is too inconvenient?
I don't care how it got here. I am happy that it is WANTED and LOVED.
For all of you that are condemning them I am sure you have ALL taken in a foster child or done something to help all of the unwanted children that are neglected and abused. Right?
