Funny how if there is only a few hundred thousand to be made these lawyers won't take the case. I am a doc and moved from FL to Georgia to get away from the malpractice climate, now if the insurance rates go down I may come back

15% of the doctors are responsible for 90% of the problems.

it was about time! we dont need that much blood suckers lawyers ruining the services for all of us.

Can you see Obama in the White House, another blood sucking liberal lawyer. What a scary thought. What he and all the lawyers that run this country would try to do to our health system. |
|
|
The insurance industry as a whole has turned into the biggest pyramid scheme ever.

Let's compare:
Lawyer 3.0 Gpa, 3 years of Law School, 2x's the number of available programs - one bar exam. Doctor 3.6 Gpa (minimum) 4 years of Med School, 3 years of residency, 3-4 years of specialy training, 4 licensing exams. How would you like to be that doctor who's sacrificed 10 years of their life accruing $200K in school debt, earning $40K while in residency/specializing working 80 hrs per week, only to have some "slick backed greasy haired lawyer" sue you, your practice etc..b/c a patient believes you hurt them. Medicine is not and never will be an exact science, and it won't be unless we change from a human form to robots. It's a miracle doctors can cure as many people as they do or prolong their lives considering the aggressiveness and complexities of diseases. I'm not opposed to recovering damages from a doctor who did grossly neglect a patient or a procedure. But outside of something major, 99% of doctors do a great job considering what they encounter in their profession on a daily basis. This country needs more doctors and less lawyers. |

Take away the bait, and the legal sharks will leave the area.
Good riddance. |

AMA has one tenth of the political or lobbying power that Lawyers do!! Let's see, lawyers make up 95% of our elected officials in local, state and federal gov't.....hmmmm I wonder who makes the Laws?? oh yeah, that's right, the elected officials of whom are all LAWYERS!!! Talk about a 'good ol boys club'!!! I had a friend who practiced law defending doctors in malpractice lawsuits.....10 years ago he switched and began PROSECUTING those same doctors he defended. You know why? He said the money was much better in prosecuting than defending... In the last 10 years he earned 3 x's what he earned the previous 20! Always follow the money. |

The shame of it is that we do need lawyers, honorable decent ones who are not out to take every penny they can, but get only what is actually fair and reasonable. It was lawyers who brought this hatred on themselves, the personal injury lawyers, the product liability and the clss action lawyers. Why do you think there is 99% anti lawyer sentiment here? Lawyers are also like cops. They have a lot of power to drag people to court to force them to defends themselves and spend huge dollars. The more power you have to mess with people, the more restrained and humble you need to be. They collude with chiropracters and others to make every incident worth at least 10K screwing us all to make a thousand in their pockets. They throw it all up against the wall and see what sticks. It is worst here in Fl and NY statistically. That is what people hate, lawyers who do not believe in the principles of decency honor and what is right. My business has been sued 5 times and without all the details, let me tell you, what was paid out versus actual tiny damage was a sin. So no, I am not a jealous lawyer hating moron, just another victim of them. And yes, our country was founded by and is mostly run by lawyers, that is why they have been given so much power for so long. We have like one lawyer for every 200-400 people here in FL, that seems like a teensy tiny sign that there is a problem. Oh yeah, I do have a lawyer, but he is one of the stupid ones, he works hard every day and does not try to see how he can twict the law and people to make 10k every time someone gets tapped on their rear bumper or was not looking and tripped on a blade of grass. |
OH JOE, YOU BIG LUG, JUST SHUT UP AND BE HAPPY FOR ME! I'M GONNA BE AN AUTUMN BRIDE! |

|
I say you lawyer-haters are all a bunch of morons who couldn't get into law school if you tried -- much less pass the Bar exam! Jealous, jealous, jealous!
please, law schools will take any one who can pay the tuition. its about time that people understand the difference between "malpractice" and "bad outcome". yes, sometimes bad things happen to good people; its called "risk" and we take it everyday we live and breathe. |

It is unfortunate that lawyers are taking the brunt of this legislation because in each profession there always a few of the greedy type. This change in the law does nothing to help rid us of the incompetent doctors that will continue their assault on defenseless patients.

Simple solution:Don`t get sick.

Ahhh....the poor dirt bag lawyers can't screw over doctors as easily anymore.

What happens if your Doctor doesn't have insurance? Simple, He know longer is a doctor and no longer should be allowed to practice as one.
If I don't have automobile insurance, The state will not renew my tag and registration, making itr illegal for me do drive. I believe they even suspend drivers licenses for that too. So, No doctor insurance, No Work ! If that doesn't happen an a doctor does mutilate someone, It should be the states for for allowing that to take place. |

15 1/2 STDS SINCE 1976 (WHEN I FIRST BECAME A GOD.....A LIFEGUARD). BUT THOSE DAYS ARE BEHIND ME NOW (pardon the pun!) THANK HEAVENS FOR CLINICS! |
|
Doctors can go without insurance. When they get sued, the patient is screwed because doctors use asset protection strategies to hide their money. We lawyers make loads of money off the insurance companies, but when a doctor has no insurance then suing him is just a waste of time and money for us. |

Kardis who practises at charlotte regionsal medical center is the doc who did my single heart bypass and it was a failure.
This is the same doc who looked me right in the eye and told me that cutting the sternum was "minimally invasive" and that robotic bypass surgery or keyhole wouldn't be available at charlotte regional until at least 2010 or later. It's been there for 3 years now, 6 months after he told me that. Lied? Then he told me I needed a bypass of the right led, a stent on the left illiac AND a right carotic endartectomy and that we should do them all in the same WEEK! I never had any of those done, am fine with chelation therapy, and because of my decision to run from this guy, I'm "only" the victim of a failed open heart surgery. Thanks a lot |

That's Dr "Thomas Kardis", "your heart lung doc"
lol |

I think as citizens we also should decide to go without insurance!!!!!
When we get in a car accident,we'll negotiate a settlement with the other person, if there is a hurricane, with the money we save in insurance we can probably build a house after a few years, medical insurance?, haggle with the doctors, that's what the uninsured do now and, they get a better quote than the insured folks because it's a cash deal, no Uncle Sam!!!!! |
