Four motorcyclists injured on Interstate 595 near Weston

Four motorcyclists were hurt in a crash that sent one man hurtling over a guardrail on Interstate 595 and into a tree Saturday afternoon near Weston.

I'm glad nobody died. Hopefully, they will learn a lesson and SLOW DOWN! I ride a cruiser bike and have had a couple of sport bike riders do stupid things on the road that not only endangered them, but ME as well. There will be a special report on WPTV channel 12 News out of WPB Monday the 12th at 11:00p.m. Take a look at what these morons on sport bikes are doing. It may be time to make sport bikes illegal on the highways for everyone's safety. Too many sport bike riders can't handle the power and speed.

I was coming home last night from work at 3am and I saw a group of motorcyclists gathering on I75 in weston. When I got home getting ready for bed I heard the motorcycle races on 595.
When are the police going to put a stop to this? No respect for the law or for other people driving on same road.

With today's medical expertise and knowledge, we can fix a lot of things. Stupid is not one of them.

Helmets are a good start, but they do nothing for neck or spinal cord injuries. Humans like to take foolish chances with their personal safety. They don't consider the impact on their future, or the future of their family members, who have to change their lives to care for them after they've made an emotion-based, testosterone-fuelled decision that injures or disables them (and possibly other innocent drivers?). There's no thought to the consequences of their actions, nor their future health and welfare. When will they learn that the human body is fragile, yet expected to last for decades?

i live on weston road right near 595. i heard some bikes flying down the highway lastnight. the junk is so rediculous. i am glad that they got charged! they act like lunatics! a friend of mine got killed on a motorcycle a couple of years ago. its not cool. whenever i see one on the road i don't stay behind them and i try to stay away from them completely.

Speeding, no doubt. This ramp is only two lanes. How fast do you have to be going to not see a van at 330 in the afternoon on a limited stretch of road? I bet one tried to beat the van to the merge point to 75. Score one for the van.

It's amazing that one hits the van, and all four go down. Glad the van driver wasn't hurt. They should be grateful no one ran over them. Idiots like this give all bikers a bad name.

This is my cousin and NO ONE should begign to ASSUME anything. I highly doubt he was speeding and did anyone ASSUME he is a beginner driver and MAYBE he hasn't learn all the techniques to avoid accients. ALL of you seriously need to find something better to do with your time and maybe learn how to be compassionate and stop ASSUMING like ***** HOLES!

I'll give you a "technique to avoid accidents": don't ride close together in packs, keep at least 1 car length away from another vehicle per 10 mph, and wear a freaking helmet. And BE IN CONTROL AT ALL TIMES!

Tisk, tisk, tisk. Were you there at the time of the crash, and do you have first-hand witness information? If you don't, then you can only see it from your 'family perspective', and *simply couldn't* have done anything even slightly wrong, is that right? Do you still live out-of-state, as your ISP indicates? If so, are you even remotely familiar with the traffic here in South Florida, and how these packs of young hot shots on crotch rockets travel at speeds better than 100 mph? They commonly take unnecessary risks. Have you witnessed the result of how many of these crashes turn out? Don't think your family member could not have had a hand in his own crash. Yes, even by traveling the posted speed limit, and driving defensively crashes can still occur, however they are (astronomically) rare.

You're assuming he WASN"T speeding. That makes you no better than anyone else you are slamming.
I still stand by my theory because I know this highway better than you, most likely. How do you not see a van on a two lane off ramp which has a speed limit of about 35 mph in the middle of the day?
If he was inexperienced ( and it seems all his friends must be too), perhaps he shouldn't be on a busy highway like 595. Be grateful you aren't planning his funeral today.
