Be careful where the food came from before you buy it. I avoid it if it came from Mexico or other countries like that. If you can't trust their drinking water than why should you trust the water used for watering the plants.

They don't know what caused it but all of the sudden it is ok to eat them? Hmmmm, hold the tomatoes for me! Don't you just love it when the protections that are supposed to be in place for consumers just don't measure up! Ahhh, why am I whining about this - after all it isn't like its going to affect anyone's health anyway - oh wait, it is!

This is the same FDA paid off by the drug companies to rush through testing of thier new wonderful drugs and get them on the market only to find out 2 years later that they're detrimental to people's health. FDA, the original American Drug Dealer. They should legalize weed, then they can tell the public whatever they want and the public will just head off to the store for more "whippets". But no, they want to public to be addicted to THIER drugs.

don;t you know why? They had a big meeting with Mexico. This is a deal so they can import their tomatoes here. FDA don;t know their butt from **** in the ground. One day we should not eat them and then after the meeting with Mexico we can.

The gross ignorance of the FDA clowns has done significant financial damage to the Florida economy. Certainly nowhere near the level of damage that the Army Corps Of "Engineers" continues to do though.

Idiot. First of all, if you're not a moron, you wash your produce before you eat it. What the &*$! is the problem?!

Second of all, it was not all tomatoes -- if it even was tomatoes causing the illness in the first place.

Second of all, ONLY 1,000 illnesses around the entire country was hardly cause for this ridiculous alarm -- when one considers that there are a few hundred thousand cases of salmonella each year!

I did not stop eating tomatoes during this b.s. scare. Why? Because I'm not a pansy, and I'm smart enough to wash fruits and vegetables before eating. I also know about cross-contamination when I cook meat. Do YOU?
