If I keep a packet of popcorn in my shirt pocket how long will I have to stand in the scanner before it's done?
That way I'll only have to buy a cup of water on my flight.

Pretty soon we will just have a prison style strip search before we get on a plane. This has just gotten ridiculous.

This is the technology that basically shows an unclothed body -- lots of anatomical detail. Why did the Sun Sentinel reporter fail to point that out? And I see that this is in addition to the metal detectors. So you have to show your ID and boarding pass at the start of the line; then again before you enter then "security" area; then you get the "X-Ray" treatment; then the metal detector. This is too much, The terrorists really have won.

99% of the illegal crap goes in with the employees so they have to use this on them if they want to stop the garbage.

I can't believe they were allowed to spend public money on it. Why didn't Norman Braman ask for us all to vote on whether to introduce the scanners?

It amazes me that they waste so much money and effort on crap like this when our borders are UN protected.

Illegals walk across the border every day and land on shore at night UN challenged. We are being invaded and it’s NOT through an airport!!

What's next? Do you have to bring an X-ray with you for every fracture in your body?

You know, No matter how much you try, no matter how much money you spend, you can not stop a mad man who is determined to kill himself and others. Obviously airplanes are not an easy target now, no matter whether he/she is a terrorist or just nuts, will seek out other ways (car bomb, stadiums, etc)

This country must screen those most likely to to do these things, and screw all the ones that scream that profiling is not fair. You know what, I'm white, and if w
20 people disappeared, profiling shows that it's usually a white male, even though it's not me, I can understand the logic and not be offended.

This is indeed an invasion of our privacy. If you have breast or penile implants, they will be viewed by strangers. If you have small or large private parts, they will be viewed by strangers. If you have a colostomy bag or evidence of a mastectomy, they will be viewed strangers. Of course you will never see the people looking at your private parts, they are hidden away. So we can't hear their comments I guess. The writer of this article also didn't say that if you do not want to go into this machine, you can ask for a pat down instead. Neither is acceptable to me but I'd rather one person pat me down than an untold number of people viewing me as though they have the same rights as my lover or doctor. Are there any provisions to prevent perverts getting assigned to the "viewing room?"

Personally, I'm going online to join the American Civil Liberties Union again, they seem to be the only organization that stands up for our liberties as the government makes America into a present day prelude to a reality "Soylent Green."
