Thank you for speaking so eloqently about a variety of examples why the Republican Right has created more problems than it's solved. Very well said!<quoted text>Re: My post: I was asked what kind of person could like Pres. Bush, and that was my answer, and I'm sticking to it. I'm definitely not voting for Hillary, and I'm not crazy about Obama either but that's what we have. There is NO WAY I can vote Republican again and be a Christian. I was a Republican all my life, and even voted for Bush the first go-round. Then I realized something. I am a conservative oddity. I care about our planet, for our children's future. But the Republicans said there was no such thing as Global Warming and made fun of Al Gore's "An Inconvient Truth". It won an Oscar and he, a Noble Prize. Then there is a woman's right to choose. I believe that the woman have that right, since it is her body, and the Government has no business in private affairs. She can take that up with the Lord. He will understand good reasons, and it's none of anyone elses business. Then Terri Shivo's Republican saviors came on the scene, demanding she be saved, so her parents could cut off all her limbs to 'save her life' if need be, because even a doctor in the legislature claimed she had brain function. Mind you he never examined her, nor saw the CT Scan that showed the inside of her skull was water instead of brain, BUT NONE THE LESS, he along with the Government stepped in to save her, a private family matter brought to everyone's attention - another example of the Fundmentalist-hijacked Republican party. And when we all discovered Terri was blind and had no brain function? That husband had been vilified by the Pro-life Republicans, although he tried to do what his wife would have wanted. Christians? I think not. Living wages to workers? No. Try that one out on so-called Christian Republicans. Sorry, but I've had it. I'm sick of being called a socialist, a communist, a baby killer (which I don't believe in abortion for birth control), but start taking away rights of women to choose and we will be right back behind the stove. Republicans want to go back 50 years, no thanks. I love this country and this planet, and I am scared to death a Republican president will get us into another war that may be the last one this planet will ever see.

Tallahassee is a PLACE. Go tell the legislators you elected to suck whatever you want. I believe most of them are from SOUTH FLORIDA. |
What an unbelievably ignorant thing to say. Funny how those Tallahassee "rednecks" voted Blue in the last two elections, between going to the symphony, Shakespeare in the Park and conducting research at the internationally reknowned NHMF lab. Now where are my mudflaps... Have you even BEEN to Tallahasse? |

i'll gladly let Orlando join South Florida. Ever been the only educated person in a room full of idiots? Welcome to the story of Orlando in Central Florida. While Orlando tries to progress (CenFla Light Rail) neighboring cities try to keep us in the Dark Ages (Lakeland hicks). Thanks for killing our light rail, Lakeland. Now focus on Tampa for once.

Yes. The capital building looks like a large white phallus with testicles on either side. Ever notice that? Odd I think.
That aside, Tallahassee is a nice little town. It sits all by itself uninfluenced by anything around it because, well, there isn't anything around it. It is a fine capital for everything from Jacksonville over to Pensacola. However, the lifestyle, the inhabitants, and even the ecosystem are worlds apart once you get South of Orlando. Tallytown is slightly out of touch with the southern residents that is governs, both geographically and socio-economically.
Out of touch? I don't spend a single day at work that doesn't feature listening to South Florida **** and moan. Out of touch my **** And again, the legislators here aren't FROM HERE. |

The South feels under represented and the North feels like the South is a burden. This is not a new notion in Florida either. Would it not make sense to ... split them then?
Orlando used to be a wonderful little city. What the heck happened? It seems we don't have too many politicians who really care about the people more than the big money, and developers. I like Theresa Jacobs. I liked the Light Rail idea. What happened to Orange County? |
Well boys and girls and any new people that have moved here... We can compromise and look to the future for our kids etc... However as far as a split into two seperate places>>> Heh Heh Heh Nah WILL NOT HAPPEN!!!! Once the Misfits, scam/con artist, Thugs, Molesters/rapist and people wanting something for nothing is over. When other people are leaving thier country to better themselves, We are also getting ones that are fleeing to do HARM here and that needs to be STOPPED.. Alot of thugs and thieves have come here, however We have alot of our own here already... If the communities as a WHOLE would start policing up thier own, our LEO'S would have a better chance at quelling ALL situations...

Check out the story in Orlando Sentinel yesterday and Friday re: illegal marriage rings - peole paying for citizenship by marriage, it will scare you to death. How do they really know who these people are marrying U.S. citizens? From Eastern Europe, to parts all over the world, here they come, and pay to stay, intent unknown. I know good people came here from elsewhere, but they did not have to resort to a paid illegal marriage to stay. |

def should be two states.
republican state and dimwit state |

Frankly I'll take the Ricans over the influx of Cubans in South Florida. There sense of entitlement disgusts me. Thanks Bill Clinton for the wet-foot dry-foot policy. Want border security, ship all the obnoxious Cubans back to Cuba. Go home you parasites!! |

Still bitter I see. Lakeland didn't kill the deal. Remember there are hicks everywhere but again, leave it to some in Orlando to think the world revolves around you and you're more sophisticated then you think you are. The state finally did something right and saw what a farce the agreement was with CSX. If Orlando really wants commuter rail that badly, raise the tourist tax and implement a bedroom tax (if you don't have one already) to help finance the project. Then you can make your own deal with CSX (who already has the upper-hand) and Orange County, not the state, can agree to whatever terms CSX chooses to give to you. Just remember the lube! |
Little Havana will be renamed to New Havana.
Find out what the Cuban Exiles want, and then do the opposite. |
Next it will get annexxed to cuba the language will be spanish and the russians will build a missile defense system in south florida's back yard!!
Are these idiots friggin stupid or is something in the water causing them to hullucinate??? |
If...and only IF Disney paid their full share. But since it is Dade Broward and Palm Beach that would be leaving the state Orlando would have to foot the bill for everyone. Add the three counties together and your high an mighty stance diminishes.
Plus it is not who collects the most but where the money is spent. That is the real question. Our toll booth money does not stay in South Florida that is for sure, now our education money is disappearing as well. We do not need Central and North Florida treating us like a cash machine. Notice the new I-95 toll lanes are only down here. Hmmm....

They are Republicans like you are. Being that you too are a racist. They would wand to stay.
Mike your command of the language is excellent. Unfortunately is will not be the language of this new Republican State. The goose-stepping Cuban Exiles are terrorists and bullhorns for the party of the elite and a threat to real democracy. One of their votes is worth 10 of yours or mine. |

People throw the "T" word around too frequently these days.
