I have often wondered what would happen if I were to start a Anglo Chamber of Commerce, or a NAAWP.....

So now we`re going to break up into our own little corners. An Indian Camber of Commerce, A White Chamber of Commerce,A Black Chamber of Commerce, A Gay Chamber of Commerce, and on and on and on.
I thought we were above such petty behavior. Soon we`ll only do business with people of our own race.
I guess racists come in all colors.

As long as we insist on being Afro Americans, Italian Americans, Mexican Americans, etc we will have these problems.....WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST BE AMERICANS?

Truett says:"As long as we insist on being Afro Americans, Italian Americans, Mexican Americans, etc"

Would not that be nice but I here others accusing others of being un-American for different reasons. Don't we celebrate ethnicity in such things as St. Patricks Day? I see nothing wrong in a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce the Lions Club, Elks Club etc do a lot of community services. Let it go.

Geo, so you support white separatist movements.
They support their communities. "Just let it go".
Racism and hatred is a slippery slope.
Looks like you highly recommend racism.

Absolutely not. This is no different than a good old boys club/ I'm not slighted in the one bit and I didn't join the AHEPA when I was younger or ever.

Oh stop it, Ambro. You know my hubba-hubba George better than that. He is the least racist guy around.

Besides, did you read the article? It says 40 percent of the membership are not Hispanic.

It might be a political thing. The regular chamber is a known Republican candidates and issues supporter. Competition for the chamber might be a good thing, especially if you are a business and a Democrat.

Then why not call it the Democratic Chamber of Commerce. Besides I happen to know, the "real" Chamber of Commerce is filled with Democrats.

I`ve always read betwixt the lines. this is pure race baiting.
We need to get together no break apart, especially over race, or hate groups.
It`s sad to see how primitive people are.
You ain`t got no future with this kind of behavior.
I can understand Burque breaking up over race not Santa Fe.
Too bad, We had so much potential.

The point I was trying to make is that if someone was to start an orginization called a White Chamber of Commerce they would be attacked from every direction as being racist...let me give you a little hint....there are racist in every race.

40% non-hispanic membership in the hispanic chamber of commerce? Oh yes, that sound super racist to me. We better file a lawsuit to shut them down right away! Maybe we can get the NAACP involved too. That would be most excellent!!!

At one time in SF the Chamber of Commerce would have been 90% Hispanic and 10% other if you went by equal opportunity and quota concepts, but alas it was never that way as far back as I can remember.

Facts: As a Hispanic Business women I am proud to be a part of the santa fe chamber and now a member of the hispanic chamber. My goal is to reach out to the our youth and teach them about the ownership of small business. We are not the only city to launch a Hispanic Chamber. I am aware of at least 200 hispanic chambers, the seed for this project is from the heart and we will grow with anyone who would like to take part.

Why do the hispanics need a separate chamber of commerce? This is a nationwide movement, its even in Washington state??? Can someone in the hispanic community explain to me why they are the only group that feels the need to be separate from the regular chamber of commerce in their town????

Because Hispanic leaders realized the enormous potential of the Hispanic business community in the United States and envisioned the need for a national organization to represent its interests before the public and private sectors.
