A hiring freeze so the positions not filled are having to be split amongst the working employees. It is alwlays so amazing that a top management position is "never" frozen. The exempt positions are always the first to be filled

So a question for the State Personnel Office...was hiring Roberto Mondragon to fill an engineering position essential to health and safety? Especially considering that Roberto never even got out of high school.

Was hiring Patti Bushee as a water conservation engineer essential to health and safety? Consider that her only experience with water prior to her being hired was working (as a laborer) for a landscaping company.

Wow this is amazing hiring all these unqualified high paid exempt employees. I bet all Gov Richardson buddies got jobs: waiters, hairdressers and more.

This is all nothing but a sham which is what the majority of the state of NM is. Of course they have jobs open in the state prison system. No one wants to work there especially "legitimate" professionals. Those who work there get their jobs because no one else wants to work there and/or they are unable to get jobs elsewhere. They hire so-called counselors to work in their mental health departments in the prisons who are nothing but glorified baby sitters. If they were competent at performing the work that a true counselor/therapist does, their recidivism rate would not be at 65-70%. They cannot counsel a flea let along a human being. And the wardens do not have so much as a BA. They should have a Ph.D or a Master's Degree at the least. They have nothing but their "experience" which has kept the prison system in a diseased, dysfunctional state because their thinking never progressed. It only got more diseased because the so-called ones in charge are being paid thousands of the taxpayers dollars to perpetuate a diseased, dysfunctional, corrupt system since their main thought for the day is who they are going to have sex with that night or who they are going to set up for a fall so they can move up the ladder. Employees in all positions who work for the state of NM obtain their jobs through nepotism, favoritism (including but not limited to sexual favors), and corrupt and criminal behaviors that are kept secret and used against another to obtain positions.

Richardson is nothing but a party boy who spent the last year traveling around the country on the taxpayers money while being paid for a position by the taxpayers that he is totally incompetent for. He can't run a state, let alone a country. He needs some good, competent psychiatric assistance for his borderline behaviors.

This is NM. Why is this even a story? Just business as usual.

Once they start hiring, they should look into using Job Boards, they are the best resource out there but they can be very expensive so consider Staffing Solutions & Staffing Services of companies that specialize in sourcing candidates at a low fee. They search multiple job boards for candidates with the exact requirements you are looking for as opposed to going straight to monster or career builder who charges $1000 each for 30 days access to their job boards or posting a job which doesn't work because you only get inandated with resumes of unqualified candidates.
