Like Obama, Jindal has entered the national political arena as an unknown.

Unlike Obama, the more we know about him the worse Jindal sounds.

After 8 horrible years of the most corrupt management of our government in history under the leadership of George Bush, we find the Republican Party trying to remove the wooden stake from it's heart so it can be resurrected under another name.

What does it take to kill this demon?

You implied, at least that Obama lied to us with respect to the employment of lobbyist, as evidenced with Patterson's appointment as Treasury Chief of Staff.
I'd actually say the Obama's appointment of Patterson is really the breaking a naive promise more than an intentional attempt to deceive. I will acknowledge that it is really pretty low scale of political fibs.

PolitiFact rates Obama like this:

16 Promises kept
7 Compromised promises (including the lobbyist exclusion)
2 Promises broken
2 Stalled promises
31 Promises in the works
453 Promises with no action yet

I don't know a lot about Jindal, but what I do know doesn't impress me. I don't think you'll find me defending him.

I'll have something to say about the constitutional rights of Gay people on another thread later today. The constitution is quite explicit about this.
I'll look forward to reading it, if I can stand to go back to that frustrating thread.

Have you noticed that comments written here and comments read here, apparently are in different languages even though they are all in English? This is pervasive and it is no different in Washington or elsewhere in the world, although I do th[i]nk we Americans have raised it to a high art.
That's very astute.

I have read and reread Randy's comment and for the life of me I can't see anything racist about it. Anyone who didn't know who Little Bobby was, they could logically assume he was a fat white guy in a suit. Knowing some of Jindal's background I could assume that Randy might be making a snide comment about him being Druggie's but-boy....but that would just be speculation.

I had forgotten that - as reported by Politicfact: "Obama did not promise to end earmarking, only to "reform" it, and eliminate "screwy" or wasteful earmarks......

"The closest he [Obmama] came to saying he would eliminate earmarks, as far as we could find, was when he said, in the third presidential debate, "Earmarks account for 0.5 percent of the total federal budget. There's no doubt that the system needs reform and there are a lot of screwy things that we end up spending money on, and they need to be eliminated. But it's not going to solve the problem." (Given his other campaign statements on earmarks, it's clear he meant "screwy," or wasteful, earmarks should be eliminated, not all earmarks.) http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statement...

Obama said in the first debate with McCain "And, absolutely, we need earmark reform. And when I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely."

Yup, that's not a promise to eliminate earmarks. I suspect that Obama (like most politicians) has a different definition of "unwise spending" than I do. But what politician ever admitted to spending the public's money unwisely?
why do

you have such a mental block?

It is not his budget.

He has no line item veto.

This is tiny portion of the bill and we can't have the government shut down.

Earmarks have been reduced by 75% from when other party ran things and half of what is in there was put in there by the republicans.

There is a commitment to reform - I believe that.

and
dare I say it: not all earmarks are bad or wasteful.

This is the first time I had ever applied for a loan. I couldn't have asked for anything more from the staff that answered any of my questions to the application process. Once this had all been completed the money was transferred quickly into my account. I will definitely be recommending 911PDAY .COM ( http://goo.gl/EvYZBe ) too my friends and family.
