Sorry to have missed hearing about the open house - I would have loved to have seen the da Vinci S Surgical System!

well my openion os that this is a very good thing to assist doctors how ever i believe that is should be used in very small surgery, why 12 years ago my mother had a historactomy and the doctor did not sew her right in the inside and i mean if the surgerun miss that imagine a robot well i hapo that they really make sure that the metal does not contaninate any big important organ.how are they going to be sure that the robot is well clean? and that there is no stains of blood left and then they will use it in a different pacient thats very scary!will the pacient be notified or have the option if he/she wants the robot in there surgery?

The robot looks a lot easier to sterilize than a human hand, so the chance of contamination should go down with the use of robotic surgery. Whether the robot will improve surgery or not is mainly a question of the skill of the surgeons using it and quality of the motor controllers in the robot. If the surgeons say that the robot is better for very fine control, I'm inclined to believe them.

It is very very sophisticated, but you really must learn how to spell. |

I'm inclined to think the name chosen for the robot is for a male because Dominican Hospital IS a Catholic Hospital.
Hmmm... |

Steady Eddy. One likes to hear those words before one gets wheeled into surgery. As compared to say, Shaky Jake. Rattled Rick. Baffled Barney.
Crazy Chrissy. And so on. None of those names for a robot would inspire much confidence in the poor old soul being wheeled into surgery. |
