I really hope the family and friends of the victim get the justice they deserve. Although I understand nothing will bring this young man's life back, I hope the person responsible for this gets what they deserve. THROW THE BOOK AT THEM! This story is very touching and even though I don't know who he was, his family and friends are in my prayers. May he rest in peace.

RIP Steven you were a great person. I was with my boyfriend that night he was friends with all the band members Adam Antonio Steven Charlie. These kids are the most chill and amazing people can't believe so low lives skin heads would just take a life. And YES the sheriff's officials did take to damn long to get there I spoke to a neighbor who had said he had called the 911 way before they got stabbed. They could of prevented this from happening but instead they are out there taking there time giving people tickets for going 5 miles over the speed limit. This is ridiculous how are we as citizens are supposed to feel all they did was clean up the mess that these punk bullies ruined. Including I saw a couple of police just standing there laughing with each other this is no joke what if it was there family or friends, would they took 30 to get to there? I always see so many bad things that happen down that street yet no police patroling. No I see them in the nice area or at the restaurants doing nothing to protect us. We pay taxes for them to come to our house and help us with situations. This makes me feel so unsafe in La Puente. We demand to be herd. They could of saved a life that day if they would of just stopped there conversations and got to the scene 15 min earlier. Shame on you La Puente sheriff's officials SHAME ON YOU!!!!

I drove by around 3pm sunday afternoon and the road was still blocked, i think that is a waste of time they did not respond when they where needed what can they posibly do at this point, unfotunatley I agree in less than 1 month i got three tickets two where by camera and 1 cause i was indeed going 5 miles per hour over the limit. I guess they have to make sure to keep the city safe frome people like me...... A person who works pays taxes takes and care of a family.
Of course they can intimidate a woman, on the other hand they dont do their job because they are coward, we have cowards making sure our comunity is safe. What a JOKE........My house goes out to your family. R.I.P. Steven.

Rest in peace steven, you will be missed greatly..=(
I only met you like twice, but i knew who you were and i loved your music.
It makes me so upset just knowing that someone could just hurt another person like that, then just walk away and live with themselves knowing that they killed a brother,a son,and a great friend. For absoulty no reason too.The fight could of been resolved differently..&I'm soo sad and that it ended this way.

RIP Steven...someone that wasnt thinking that night took your life, hopes, and dreams of making it big with your band Rumor Has It. If the person that did this is out there reading this turn yourself in!!! You thought you were being a man taking a knife out and taking someone's life away, now step up and really take it like a man. You will never live at peace. You took someone from us that never caused problems or would'nt hestitate to lend you a hand! Someone you probably didnt even know. Someone who was a great son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. We miss you and love you Steven.=(

Well said. If someone goes to a party in a rough neighborhood, they assume a certain risk factor. You can have an officer on every corner and it wouldn't matter. People are free top do whatever they want in their houses and backyards. Unfortunately, sometimes they decide to murder someone. Don't blame the Sheriff, blame yourself.

Well as we all know Valinda is not a friendly place after 9pm on a friday or Saturday nite. Having parties there gets even worse as young underage and some over 21 yr. olds consume beer, liquor like it is the normal thing to do in having a party. No one ever does these parties sober. It is all about drinking which in turns can get the problem drinker violent. Not just in Valinda but anywhere. It is sad a 19yr. old lost his life. As a father with a son of 19 yrs. of age I cannot wait til he gets home when he goes out on Firday and Saturdays with his friends. Anything can happen and I warn him of the dangers of drinking also try not to be a party where gang memebers are. Lets be real I know he drinks and so do his friends but what can you do in this day and age. It happens all you could do is pray they make the right decisions and get out of harms way once the fight starts. I talk to him all the time of and show him the tribune stories, always cautioning him about parties in Bassett,Valinda, Azusa. La Puente and Pomona as these are known hot spots for violence. Sad for the family and I always pray I do not get that call and by talking to my son that he has a heads up and listens to what I am telling him. Parents all we can do is continue to talk to our kids and hope for the best. It is a jungle out there and Alcohol does not help matters.
