The officer should not have been at work, how can he arrest someone if he is drunk? Per the last peragraph.

"The officers at the scene showed signs of being drunk, and was booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, after failing several sobriety tests."
Use some common sense

Come on. Henry. Use some common sense. The writer clearly made a mistake and left out a few words.

"The driver, a 61-year-old-man, failed to see the victim and ran his 2003 Saturn into the victim, according to the CHP.

The officers at the scene showed signs of being drunk, and was booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, after failing several sobriety tests."

Do you really think the "DRUNK OFFICERS" were 61 years old and were driving a 2003 Saturn?

I think I can safely assure you that the driver of the 2003 Saturn (NOT THE CHP OFFICER) was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

That final sentence SHOULD have read something like this:

"The officers at the scene STATED THE DRIVER showed signs of being drunk, and was booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, after failing several sobriety tests."

Now that that's been cleared up, Henry, you can move on to your next cop-bashing project.

on the artical of Pedestrain Killed on 605 onramp.
the last two sentences state the officers at the scene showed signs of being drunk....along with the 61 year old also being taken into custody. Did they all fit into one car?
Gee". think you might want to offer me a job in your writing department, or maybe it would be a great idea to create a position in proof reading before you print...i am available

Henry, you're the last person that should be pointing out poor writing skills. You know darn well you thought the policer officer was drunk and now that someone pointed out how ridiculous your statement was you're backtracking and claiming you were pointing out poor editing. How about we point out your poor spelling? Paragraph has no "e" in it and article is not spelled "artical".
