Michael Antonovich and Lee Baca are among the very few sane government officials we have in Los Angeles County. I wish our Los Angeles City councilmembers, mayor, and chief of police could be as sensible.

Baca should be fired for not complying with Federal Law along time ago. He is no hero. Either he wants something or he is up to something.
They need to pass the Jamal Shaw law if they are serious. I find it crazy that Baca can pick how our Federal Laws are applied and who they are applied to. Our immigration laws are not broken they are not being enforced.
We need to wake up and hold morons like Baca accountable and demand that they do their job 100% no if's and or buts.

If I break the law as a citizen of the U.S.A. I get punished. ILLEGALS (Note the term automatically means you broke the law) do what they want and escape to home if it's really serious and the police do nothing to them. Every cop found not doing his job should be arrested and or fired

Without meaningful immigration reform, securing the borders isn't this just throwing money at a problem without addressing the underlying causes?
Or is it transferring the money for trial/jail time to deporting then recapturing when they return?

It is a cycle that seems to be unbreakable and all we do is shift money around without reducing the costs.

Absolutely about time they start the deportation of these incarcerated illegals that cost us tax payers...
The civil rights groups need to step aside from looking after the civil rights of the illegals and back up the civil rights of the "Legal American citizens"!
Continue to write and email our public officals telling them we're FED UP!

"Civil rights groups opposing the program believe that focusing on gang members will further contribute to racial profiling, and that it gives deportation authority to officers who should be more focused on community safety.

Don't you think law enforcement doing this would be focusing on community safety? Our communities would be a heck of a lot safer with gang bangers and druggies sent back along with their families who set up housekeeping and use our system. Give me a break!

AS a third generation Mexican-American I can identify with the frustation on many levels when it comes to illegal immigrants and gang bangers. I don't think it's fair to say that " Mexican's are the cause for all the trouble that is happening in society today . Yes, we need to do something about illegal immigrants coming over to the U.S , Yes we need to depart all illegals and gang members because they are leeching and not contributing to society . I don't think a child born here or as you call **** should be able to stay here. Why should they their parents don't have a job so why should we support them . these **** can go back to whichever country they came from with their parent . I know that there are a lot of hard working illegal immigrants but why don't they just do it the right and legal way like so many others before them . If you want to be here and live the American dream , than do it just do it right .I really believe that we need to get ride of welfare and public assistance for all, and help the senior citizens of the United States who worked their butts off for many years to just have enough to survive. THe illegals live and get more than the AMerican people.Give more money to the vetrans who fought and protected this country . SPEnd more money on education . I get frustrated when I see Mexican flags flying and people protesting saying things about this being Mexico and " proud to be Mexican . DOn't get me wrong I love the color of my skin and who I am but we aren't in Mexico , yes this use to be Mexico but it isn't anymore . It's a good thing because I wouldn't want it looking like Tijuana! WHY is it that Hispanic neighborhoods look like T.J and not white neighborhoods? Look your in the U.S now if you love Mexico so much go back! This is America " The land of the free " Not the land of the free loaders! Yes I have mispelled words and poor grammer but I am at work and wanted to say my opinion really quick! I am not trying to be a rude person I just wanted say how I felt and their our other Mexican -American and other people that feel the same way . This is our country and we need to preserve what is left and just clean house.

At last, someone made the obvious decision, and its about time to do something about California's status as the gang capitol of America, and the leader in illegal immigrants in America. Our economy is in shambles, largely due to the combination of out of control social spending and subsidies for illegal immigrants by taxpayers. Congratulations to our politicians who made these stands. The "Illegal Sanctuary Cities" of Los Angeles and San Francisco should do likewise. Public pressure needs to be brought to bear on those politicians who knowingly make policies that violate federal laws. California is in fiscal and social crisis now, and the same failed policies cannot continue.

Is Lee Baca the only guy that has any common sense in L.A. County.

Deport the criminal aliens already. Man, why didn't this happen ten years ago?

Don't ever forget that public pressure on your inept politicians has led to this decision.

This is only the first step in cleaning up our streets. But it's a good start.

These politicians, advocates, pundits, better realize that illegal immigration is not going to be an issue they can brush under the rug. It's no longer Democrat versus Republican, or in this case Democrats are adverse to the original planned border fence and anything that has a sweet smell of rigid immigration enforcement.
But I'm not even saying that the Democrats are the worst advocates of enforcing a laws, because many of the Republicans are pre-owned by the International Globalists.
Along with the Iraq War illegal immigration is costing American taxpayers at all different levels of government at least a trillion dollars each year.
Corrupt Incumbents need to thrown out of office? All & every politician that doesn't sponsor the Federal SAVE ACT (H.R.4088) Any elected official (Hired-help) which includes Governors, Mayors, councilman, city managers who pander to the Special Interest lobby. They should be tarred and feathered if they are in collusion with foreign governments like Mexico.
If Americans don't fight back against the Globalist tyranny that will swamp us with cheap labor. The Democrats who have gutted the border fence funding, so we will be dealing with Overpopulation in just 20 years. The drugs, the escalating crime rate and the wilting nationwide economy. It's entirely up to 'THE PEOPLE' in the coming months. Both parties are going to land America with another AMNESTY.
Taxpayers will be paying for both the illegal immigration insurgency and the welfare and profits for the predatory employers. If your really want to know the unrestricted ugly truth not found in the liberal-socialist press. If you want to do something about job loses, your mortgage, your families future. Go to NUMBERSUSA .
Ask your State representative energy conservation?
How much gas, oil and electricity we could save, if we sent illegal aliens home.
We cannot keep up the demand for it right now! Oil! Diversity Alliance for Sustainable America.(earthtimes) stated in it's article that if the U.S. grants amnesty and gives citizenship to 12 to 30 million illegal migrants already here, as McCain, Obama and the majority of Democrats propose. That all those naturalized citizens could possibly add 120 million U.S. and foreign-born relatives to the U.S., in the next 20 years whom all will CONSUME MAJOR ENERGY. Does the American people need to escalate the 315 million plus population, the census estimates we have now? To a new total of 435 million?
Massive negative consequences of illegal immigration on today's and yesterdays economy. Illegal Immigration is all enveloping our economy! Everything! Obama, McCain, Governors, Mayors, Councilors, City managers take notice! 80 percent of the American people are watching! How many more nefarious companies out their, violating safety and immigration laws. When ICE knocks on the door eventually--and they will, under the Federal SAVE ACT. Deportation is an absolute certainty. Whereas, voluntary 'ATTRITION' means you can re-apply like all the millions of legal immigrants.

The balkanization of our communities and a large and growing population with loyalty to other Nations. Just read this disturbing revelation of costs to the Taxpayer: GOOGLE these sites! Find the truth? numbersusa, snopes-under-politics, fairus, capsweb, americanpatrol, libertypost, vdare. Our politicians must endorse the Federal SAVE ACT (H.R.4088) before the next AMNESTY bill.

Amnesty is nothing more than political suicide for any politician. It's also extremely unpopular with the American people.

Enforcement of our laws will take precedence over everything else because the American people demand it.

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

"Any person who ... encourages or induces an alien to ... reside ... knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such ... residence is ... in violation of law, shall be punished as provided ... for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs ... fined under title 18 ... imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

Antonio Villaraigosa (then, Tony Villar) leading a protest to include the Communist organization "Committee to Free Los Tres" on the Steering Committee of the Chicano Studies Center. UCLA campus, May 23, 1974.

Antonio Villaraigosa, a one-time juvenile delinquent still tattooed with the slogan “Born to Raise Hell,” entered the UCLA campus as a transfer student from East Los Angeles Community College in 1972. Known then simply as Tony Villar, he would not successfully graduate by the time he left in 1975.(1) But Villar did leave a wide swath of influence in other, more radical ways.

While on campus, Villar joined the UCLA chapter of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), and was part of its leadership by 1974. MEChA had only been founded as a regional movement in 1969, and in many ways, the UCLA chapter, and the radical Chicano student left today, is a direct product of Villar’s work then.
