Regarding the above quote in the San Jose Mercury newspaper:
"The decision to release Elliot's report (concerning Coleen B. Wilcox) to the public and the media now resides with the office of education, not the board." and "The San Jose Mercury News on Thursday formally requested a copy of the report. The county office has 10 days in which to respond."

In slang I say: "Way to go!", "Three Cheers" and "Hurrah! for "Freedom of the Press" and "freedom of information generated by public tax funded agencies." It's a shame that the public has to be held hostage by attornies and law suits for the fear of them. FREEDOM of information and public accountability is being held hostage by lawyers and courts, and there is no better example of this than the Colleen B. Wilcox case! Whether she is guilty or innocent, has no bearing on the principle issues of freedom of information from public funded tax payer supported institutions! Thank Goodness that the San Jose Mercury forced the issue of public disclosure! Freedom lost is derived from good people being silent!
