Those who support measure A say it may cost a business as much as $75. This is a lie. The fee is based on the number of employees and could be as high as $5,000 for a business with 100 employees. They say a business should pay their fair share. Do they live in glass houses? Businesses already pay a property tax, sales tax, and employ people who contribute to the finances of the city by paying an assortment of taxes and fees. They state businesses want to locate in Palo Alto. What a joke. Palo Alto provides layer after layer of bureaucratic obstruction. Now they want to burden the business community because their budget is out of control. Vote NO on Measure A.
