The woman has mental problems. I'm sure most, if not all of you can see that. Does it do any good to make snippet comments and ridicule a person who is mentally deficient? Maybe in your life but not mine.
I don't feel there is even a story here for the Sentinel but they want to dog it to death and fill the front page. That's sad in its own right. But on the other hand, I guess they get tired of publishing articles about shootings in Orlando.
Well, maybe if it were YOUR baby, you'd feel it was important enough to rate news time? As for "mental problems;" obviously this woman is a few beans short of a can to be out stealing babies; and while I have respect for people with legitimate mental problems, we have to hold people responsible for their actions at SOME point in time, dont' we? Here in Maryland a guy just drowned his 3 kids; do we say "oh well, he's having "issues" today," he's got a mental problem, and let him go? Has anyone besides myself noticed that since our society started this "we are not responsible for our actions" nonsense that crime in the US has gone thru the roof? This woman was apparently planning a kidnapping for several months, she was lying about the baby to others, she knew EXACTLY what she was doing and should be held fully accountable for her actions. I say big time jail time.

Has anyone tested her children to confirm they are hers? Perhaps she snatched them to.......

Since when is stealing a toaster oven and a cell phone a FELONY? She did 3 months, sounds to me like she told them she had had a previous problem and got the catagory wrong.

I'm not defending what she did at all, but the whole thing sounds like a segment from "Fargo", 1 **** up after another on the part of "system". I think it's smoke, that Eriksson got a lot of heat for releasing her, so they went and got her. Kidnapping=ankle bracelet?

Speaking of Eriksson, let's get rid of him next time around or we'll be looking at another Judge Sloop situation. He's fringe now.

I hope not, although sadly, you're probably right. It's things like this that make me hesitant to label myself a "feminist." True feminism, IMO, is about equal treatment, which means taking responsibility for your actions. Obviously, this woman has some mental problems, because normal people don't lie about pregnancy, or think it's okay to take someone's baby. But she still knew it was wrong, so she deserves to be punished for her actions.
Public records show that she voted for Dubya Bush. Knew it- she is mentally challanged.

No, I don't think if it were my child and the person was mentaly deranged that I would feel it warranted being posted front page headlines. This is not supposed to be a tabloid newspaper but some want to make it as that. You could and probably are the same bunch that gets three feet away from your television screen when the reality shows are on.

It's not me who determines if someone is held accountable for their actions but that is what is done in criminal matters. People who have mental problems can not be blamed for bad judgement - at least in most intelligent people's opinion.

I think you would be astouded to know the number of people walking around who don't even realize they have mental problems. Problems in judgement, problems facing and accepting reality (not the shows), problems with realization and understanding of yourself, these are all things that could cause problems that people don't even realize.

Have you ever taken a course in psychology or read any books on it? Do you understand or at least accept the fact that people can do things that are not normal in society and they feel that it is okay? When they have a mental problem in this area it isn't from not wanting to do right. They feel what they are doing is right. People who are just bad people do bad things and they know they are bad. This person doesn't.

Since you have access to a computer you might want to spend a little time doing some searches on good sites that explain some of the basics in mental illness. I think it might help you and it might also cut down on some of the ridiculous posts on here.

How can you possibly know that? Voting records are sealed and no voter records list names. Don't try and cause stupid trouble. Stay focused on the topic.

Diogenes, you certainly do know a lot about me and you don't even know me, hm? I don't watch reality tv - matter of fact I don't watch much TV at all, I read; and yes, I read books on psychology, sociology, etc. Plus, I've worked with people over the years in a variety of jobs, including volunteer emergency services work, so I do know something about how the human mind operates. And, as I believe I said in my earlier post, I respect the fact that lots of people DO have mental problems. Yes, this woman obviously has something wrong that she wanted to take a child that wasn't hers. However - there's a big difference between someone having a mental problem and being so out of touch with reality that they don't realize what they're doing is not "normal," and someone who plans a kidnapping over the course of several months and then carries it through. And how do you know that she "felt what she was doing" was right? For all any of US know, she might've thought "I want to get a baby and the heck with what everyone else says." But there, why am I wasting my breath/typing? In our society it seems no one is held responsible for what they do anymore. So let's do away with police, courts, jails, psychiatrists, and so on. After all, there IS no right or wrong, if we do something and WE perceive it as right no matter what anyone else thinks, then we aren't responsible!

What completely cracks me up is that she told the judge that she had no prior convictions and they took her word for it, and the judge was going to let her out! WOW our justice system is the best. LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Was her new business doing well? I think I saw the ad:

Ladies, do you dread nine long months of pregnancy? Would you like to simplify your life? Then call us....BABIES TO GO. We do all the "labor" and deliver the baby to your door. Call today!

You will like to believe that they will wait for the results of the fingerprints search before they decide what to do with her.

How on earth did she get into the maternity hospital to steal the baby anyway? Don't you people have any sort of security in place?

If I were the real parents of the baby - I'd be pi$$ed.

SInce when can you tell authorities what your past criminal record is and they believe you and let you go home before receiving the background paperwork. Unbelievable!!!!! I cannot believe that that they did not keep her in jail until they received her background check.

Valid question, considering the precedent.

Okay... He ex-husband steps into the limelight to answer questions about his past with her?

She steals a toaster oven, a motorized scooter and some other things in Indiana. Then comes to Florida and starts her scheming ways and gets in much more trouble.

Her current boyfriend is staying away from all the cameras. Smart Man !Or did she try to trap him/steal him away from another woman?

We know she kidnapped a baby boy and tried to steal another one. She lied on court documents when she was booked and lied about her prior arrests.

She's not all there as the evidence shows. But something still doesn't add up with all of this. We all know she's going to do time but how much since she is deemed unfit to live outside of a padded room.

She will get off. Some liberal woman's group will claim she was not at fault. This will be a man's fault for making her feel so bad about her body that she had to pretend to be pregnant. She will end up being the victim in this story.
Sorry, but I think a mother would be MUCH more upset than you think. Moms can be liberals, too, but that doesn't mean they'd think she was innocent. I happen to consider myself a feminist, and I am somewhat liberal, yet I believe this woman should be taken away to a prison and be made to do some serious psychological evaluations.

When Judge Eriksson released her with no bail, just an ankel monitor is said it was because she didn't have a prior record.
Well, now we learn that she did admit to petty theft then LIED about all the rest.

Remove Eriksson from the bench, he needs to get a job as a greeter at Walmart
