Review: Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining -- Economy, Business and Fi...
It used to be that the restaurants in the pavilions that line Epcot's World Showcase were the only places in Central Florida to offer a glimpse of the host countries' cuisine and traditions.

Don't forget the fees you have to come up with just to try these places. For a family of four about 250 bucks. Probably great places but really just for the in park tourists.

I just wanted to comment that here in the Toyko Restaurants they do have both men and women servers. Maybe, there in Orlando they don't pay enough for men to work in these types of positions as they are the principal provider for the family.

These restaurants try to stay true to the traditional Japanese ways and educate you on another culture. They endure a rigouous training when they arrive from Japan to ensure that you recieve the ultimate guest experience. I have been eating at those restaurants for many many years on my visits to EPCOT before they were updated and I always had an enjoyable experience. I cannot wait to try the new restaurants, I just have not been able to get a reservation. Almost all of the restaurants at EPCOT are well worth the price of admission to eat there and I do so quite frequently - must recommend to everyone, and now with the Flower Power concert series, you can take in dinner and a great show.

The o-sushi from either place isn't prepared properly because the o-sushi chef isn't licenced in Japan and they don't know what to cut away, so they cook the o-sushi to kill the bad elements. There is one decent place outside Epcot, called Sushiman, near Doctor Phillips and Sand Lake Roads. It's where the Japanese waitresses from Epcot go. In any case, you won't find many Japanese in either place on Disney property. They go to the little place on the hill that actually serves favourite dishes of the Japanese. |

Much as I love the Disney Japanese resaurants, I can enjoy Benihana across from the Disney Marketplace in the Hilton or Rangetsu on I-drive without entering a park. The quick-serve in Japan is good though, if I'm already in there.
I'm just glad the portions are more Americanized...I had some mighty small portions when I went to the real Japan.=) |
