Subaru WRX geared to take critics along for the ride - NH Broad...

I can't help but feel for Subaru. The purveyor of entertaining, all-wheel drive vehicles seems to be forever locked in combat and disagreement with its sharpest critics, who also happen to be its biggest fans.

I love my Subaru... I own a WRX... But I HATE the new 2008 WRX design. It looks like a Korean grandma car.

You say that it's still mechanically the same, but in truth, the suspension is much softer. Body roll has greatly increased. And the brakes have been downgraded. And look at it!

All WRX fans wanted was an aggressive design with a little more horsepower, a slightly tighter suspension, and a six speed. We got nothing we wanted.

man, subaru will change the front and rear end within 2 years gaurenteed look at past gen wrx's and how many times they changed, im my opinion the '06 wrx looks a fiar bit nicer then the '02. nothing is written in stone the wrx265 will has apparently adressed everything you just said aside from the looks. they got it, for one year you gota put up with a soft wrx, but that suspension setting and breaks will never be put into another wrx again(it will b e called 2.5GT,the name better suits that setup anyway)

The 2.5GT will only be available in an automatic and will have the same engine and turbo as the WRX does now. The actual WRX will have an upgraded turbo and suspension and will keep the WRX name and only be equipped with a manual transmission. There will also be sunroofs available in certain models which haven't been available in Impreza body's for a long time, not that it helps with performance by any means, but it is a big request and probably the most common custom job that customers have us install upon purchase ... along with leather, but no word that they're adding that in the 09' lineup.
