Long Islanders not pumped about $4-a-gallon gas

Casting a wary eye on the rapidly scrolling numbers on the gas pump, Peter Kang looked resigned yesterday as he filled the tank of a white sedan at a Garden City station.

Montauk is quickly approaching $5 a gallon. The "Montauk Fuels" station (used to be Mobil) price range for the liquid gold is $4.61 for regular to $4.91 for high test. Thieves - that is what they are - nothing but thieves - from the large companies to dealers such as Montauk Fuels. The truly take advantage of the people - locals and visitors alike.

This is disgusting. And the idiot in the White House does nothing. Why would he, he has his filthy stupid hands making money. With his ties to the oil industry he doesn't care about us. What kind of a world are we giving our kids. They work minimum wage jobs and put all of it into a gas tank. What a mess this moron has made of this country. The oil companies are raking in billion dollar obscene profits and there's no gouging of us. The gas prices are horrible!!! but at least if things get even more unbearable, there are some( not attractive ones) but some alternatives..My ? is how come no one is complaining about home meating oil?? its been over ..way over $4 for a long time thy buying a tank of that for a 255 gallon tank.. wheres the alternative ?? please tell me

Wake up and blame the real culprits! We are surrounded by oil reserves but the Dumocrats cowtowing to the environmentalist whackos block every effort to drill for it. Even if there was oil available, the US has not built a refinery in over 20 years! Again, thanks to the Dumocrat party.

I've read that in the past year the supply is unchanged, and that demand is down 1-1.5% over the year...Blame the oil speculators for these high prices, there is no oil shortage. The president should threaten to release the countries oil reserves(not actually do it) and the speculators will run for cover...Threaten to release the reserves to the open market every two weeks or so..they won't know whats going on, back off and oil prices will come down. I'd like to see how these speculators like having their minds F---ed with.

You need to realize that the idiot in the whitehouse has major stocks in the oil companies. Why would he want to lose out on profits. Of course he is not going to do anything

Al Gore was pushing for $5 a gallon gas back in the 1990's... read his book. THink how much money you have saved buying gas for under $5 a gallon since Al's presidency was stolen.

Perhaps Al has some stock in oil in addition to his stock in carbon credits.

Our dollar means nothing, and it's gonna be long after I'm gone (thankfully) that there will be any chance of that turning around.

You are right on the money. These people writing these blogs have no clue what they're talking about. If your that crazazy about gas prices, but a Prius. Be the same as filling up with 2$ gas. But no, you want an SUV. So deal with it tehn. There is an alternative to being dumb ya know.
