Wah wah wah. Look where you're walking people! I'm so sick of the LIRR being blamed for people's stupidity. For every one person who falls in the gap, there are THOUSANDS of people who seem to have no trouble. I no longer live on Long Island, and at the train station by my home, the train wheels are at street level, meaning passengers have to step UP to get on the train. I wonder how these LI'ers would fare - they'd probably run under the wheels of the train and then sue the railroad for not putting up a barrier. Darwin anyone?

from now on all persons must remain prone on ground to prevent any possible injuries due to the effects of gravity.any person rising from this position assumes all responsibility for the risks involved.

Who cares! Enough with the GAP already. My bet is she was too busy texting on her mobile phone and missed the small space in between the train and platform.

What's up it's very hard to find articles to comment on any more. Gap incident is one night after LIRR Pres Meet the Customers Night- how funny is that?

How many people stumble down the stairs and suffer injuries worse than this minor gap incident? Probably at least 10 for every time an idiot falls into the gap. Why aren't these front page news?
Jamaica Hospital???? The woman would have been much safer staying in the gap.

It was refreshing to read a "gap" story. Took my attention away from bank robberies, shootings, beatings that Newsday reports about.
Anyone reading Newsday from out of town would think we live in the wild west with the endless reporting of violence. Isn't there something good happening on LI? Or, do the editors think we'd rather read about violence?
