Maybe Governor Patterson and former Police Officer Eric Adams should read the minutes of the Sean Bell trial prior to proposing new legislation. And does former Police Officer Eric Adams know what it's like to make a gun arrest at 4 o'clock in the morning? Doubt it....
And maybe when United States Congressman John Conyers comes to New York City next week to once again look into alleged police brutality by the New York City Police, we can get Mr. Sharpton sworn in and ask what ever happened to Tawana Brawley? Mr. Sharpton, Mr. Pagones is still awaiting his settlement, forget? There is an old saying, "empty barrels make the most noise" and there are way too many empty barrels with their own agendas in this case...

"So they felt they had no other choice than to take the action that they took," Paterson said. "And I respect the decision that they made to take that action."

So breaking the law is now respected by our Governor. Interesting.

What amazes me is that Sean Bell is being made into some sort of hero. He was a felon and tried to run down a police officer. Stop it already!!!

Good move by the governor, why should cops get card blanche when they screw up. They are supposed to held to a higher standard than the ordinary citizen. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

civil unrest rumbling in the governors mansion mr patterson? it will take more than a bill to make changes in police conduct on the job

we already know they get preferential treatment whenever they are caught doing something, why shouldn't they walk when a murder is involved, whether it be sean bell or any other

hopefully the speech any of the taxpayers get when we are arrested will also apply to those who are to uphold the law

Not so Sharpton finds anything he can to open his fat lips a flap about racism and civil rights. even though the thugs were acting like thugs and needed shot. if they wouldn't have kept trying to run the cops over, the cops wouldn't have kept trying to shoot them. Bad shots is my guess!

Obviously breaking the law is respected by you too, if you feel that there is nothing wrong with murder! Nobody is saying that Sean Bell or his friends are heroes. It's time for some damn change. Amadou Diallo, an innocent man was killed by NYPD who had never been convicted of any felonies or had been in trouble with the law at all for that matter. Did he deserve to die too? And what does a felony (for which one has paid their debt to society) have to do with any of this? What felonies were committed on the night Sean Bell was killed? Is it now okay to walk around killing anybody who has a record?
And I'm not sure about you, but if an unidentified man was in front of my car pointing a gun at me, I would have ran his a** over too! Maybe he would not have tried to run the cop over, if he knew it was a cop! Ever think about that?
