Look out NY motorists!

The MTA is short of money and we drivers will be taxed again. They certainly can't and won't raise fares.

If I ran my business the way they run the MTA and I had a shortfall, would they bail me out. It is less than unlikely.

maybe they should try not doing 85 projects at once? concentrate on 1 or 2 at a time.

if u can't afford to pay for something, they don't do it. they forecast these HUGE budget deficeits every year but keep on spending enormous amounts of $$$.

Ahhh, the taxpayers, riders, motorists will pay it. Or we'll just sell more bonds and they'll pay for it over 20-30 years, with interest!

Incompetents? Or smart thiefs?

The only thing they get on time is their fare increases.

I love a comment I heard from a fellow co-worker, where three MTA workers had been consigned to a task at 34th Street.

They were hanging advertisements (or something of the like, I cannot rightly recall the specifics) and instead of having one worker, being paid one salary, complete the work...They had three workers doing a job one could easily do.

One had to hold the sign. Another had to drill the holes, and a third had to check the rivets to see if they were inserted correctly.

What the h e c k is that?

And the fares keep rising...Up, up, up!

Not sure I like it :(

Thats ok, one time i was on a 6 train and they were doing "line work" at pelham bay park. the line work consisted of one guy doing something to a track, and three people standing around him watching tomake sure that the work was being done. tell me that isn't needless spending there 4 people being paid one working and the other three standing with their hands.

Let's use all are money to build the 2nd ave subway so Billionaireberg can have at least one major accomplishment to show for his time in office. It's like adding a new room to your house and then not having any money left to pay the rest of you bills and they foreclose.

Just RIF the deadwood.

MTA could RIF 10-15% of its payroll and not miss 'em.

C'mon, Elliott - show us some of those management chops you learned in the private sector. Show us you've got a pair.
