The meerkats are fun ! We are in the exhibit a few times a day, around 8:00 am to about 8:40 am feeding and cleaning the getting it ready for the zoo to open, we also are in the exhibit at 12:30 pm feeding live meal worms and crickets. I often feed them in a cardboard tube and let them pull out their own to eat. It keeps them occupied for some time anyway.

They do at metro also at 12:30 feeding. They get vegetables, fruit and dog chow in the mornings. At the afternoon feeding crickets are on the menu too!!

i am so glad the zoo and ron mcgail have the wisdom to provide people with computers like myself who are unable to drive and visit the zoo. and i also appreciate again **** mr. msgil has the ability to bring to our zoo all of the animals for us to see and to learn from them. kudos to him and the way he runs and takes care of all of the animals in the zoo, he has done a wonderful joboverseeing the animals and the care they receive i remember his frustation after hurrican andrew hit and severly damaged the zoo. in fact i cryed after i saw in person how damaged the zoo was and again kudos to him and his devotion to the zoo. and he was very gracious to let me introduce him so my daughter could meet him at a fla. marlins game one night.all my best to him and all of the animals in hi zoo. they are certainly a special gift to watch on the video cam and we are very prividlged to be able to watch them.ki love it.

Dear Zookeeper/IT staff,

Please check the meerkat enclosure camera, it hasn't worked since thursday. The image is dark like nighttime, I can see some lighter pixels, but it's mostly black. I'm going through major withdrawals, I love to watch your meerkats running and playing, every day, all day, when I have the chance!!

I hope that the meerkats are all well, as well as the zoo staff.

Peace Love & Meerkats

Dear Zookeeper

Please check the camera it doesn't appear to be working. This is the 3rd day that I've come to the site and there is no picture only a black screen.
I'm really missing the meerkats which have been a part of my day now for quite some time. I keep your site on most of the day so I can watch them running and playing.

I sure hope that the meerkats are ok and that it's not bad weather there that caused the problem.

Missing the Meerkats,
Chicago, IL.

In answer to the person who wanted to know about their diet...in the morning they get dry dog food, fruits and vegetables and meatballs made of bird of prey diet (Horsemeat (USDA Inspected and Passed), meat by-products, ground corn soy bean meal, rolled milo, brewers dried yeast, calcium carbonate, dried egg, Nebraska Brand vitamin premix, salt, Nebraska Brand bird trace element premix) mixed with taurine powder. Most of the meerkats go straight for the meatballs, but one prefers fruit first.
