$9.00 an hour minimum wage? That's crazy talk! It should be at least $20 per hour. If you can't afford a $10.00 hamburger at Mc Donalds after the minimum wage is raised to $20, you need to re-adjust your priorties!!

The housing crisis was created by banks and other financial jugglers selling dreams to people who could not afford them. Financial wizards built products based on illusions, and yes they brought us all down.

But, did you see the price tag on our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan? I am not a pacifist by any means, but that endeavor bought us nothing: certainly not greater security, not allies, and not resources. It was war based on fabricated fears. Few profitted on this one, and little revenue trickled down to the public. If there was any silver lining at all it was that some good stocks were available at fire sale prices.

Few proffited from this one? please, why do you think we 're still there? why do think we're not to leave until the end of next year? why do think drones have become an issue here at home. Haliburton is making a killing, private security, who employ as many warm bodies as we have in uniform, are making a killing. Logistics for supporting over hundred thousand bodies comes at a staggering cost. That what this fiasco was all about to begin with, DOD contracts, just ask Cheney. Huck, you missed a huge point. Love all the graphs, and your comments about how more tax revenue will solve all the problems. But more tax revenue continues to enable the addiction the government has to out-of-control spending. They spend more for things we don't agree with but still have to pay for. I am humorously going to assume that you are not married, but either way, if your wife went out with credit cards and spent ALL of the money you were making, and then spent more, like ALOT more...granted, on good stuff like groceries, but also crazy stuff like fur coats or jewelry, you would probably take measures to stop that. What if she told you that you just needed to make more money and that she had no intention of reducing her spending? I kinda get the feeling you would be thinking maybe a divorce was in order...but what if you lived in a state that didn't allow divorce...well....

and as for the talk about the banks and the housing crisis, it was good ol' Bill Clinton who mandated that the banks give those loans to people who really were not qualified to have them, which jacked up the housing boom and then it popped like a grand soapbubble...

McCain was not shot down by the North Koreans, moron...finder. The lack of clarity is on your part. The surplus you speak of was for that one term, not for the nation historically. My portfolio has never been worse than under this president. Even going back to Clinton (can you even remember him?)

But answer me this.... when they raise the minimum wage and all of those stores who pay minimum wage raise thier prices to pay the new minimum wage will we not be in the same boat next year?

And another and more important question... with all those babyboomers retiring and collecting social security isn't social security based on inflation? So if we raise minimum wage which causes inflation won't the fedes just have to start pating out more in social security and disability?

Will they also not have to pay out more for food stamps and unemployment?

All the while not collecting any new taxes because people on minimum wage don't realy pay taxes... in fact most already get food stamps and rent subsidies, obamaphone and next year obamacare.

And one last thing... shouldn't minimum wage jobs be for people with no ged, ex cons, dui offenders, high school kids and retirees looking for a little extra? Isn't anyone who is trying to fedd thier family on minimum wage just being lazy and blocking the job for someone who needs a strat in life? Is it not like someone staying in first grade because they refuse to learn to count to ten and taking up the seat for someone who wants to learn?

no, because the rise in prices will be spread amongst people of all income brackets, 300 million, not just the 3.8 million at or below minimum wage
