I hope they find this creep! I wish more of a better description was given so that someone could aid with identifying the perp. Best of luck to the victim, it is a lifetime of suffering, and I hope she gets support for her family and friends.

A lot of these famale students are not assaulted they are DRUNK and than realize what they did and holler assault! He was in the bathroom! Really? DO YOU ACTUALLY beleive her? I don't! Some rich kid lying again!
You have to remember that this is ONE article. You also need to remember that there are always 3 sides to every story. His, hers, and the right one. Now. If this did happen, it is assault! Drunk or not. If she is alert enough to know what is happening and says no, and he continues, it's assault. At least. Granted, there are ways to protect yourself. But hey, haven't you ever been at a party? Don't judge quite yet.

It's a meaningless question, but good advice... Most 17 year olds are invincible, or at least think they are. This young woman has, at the very best an emotional scar and at worst an intervaginal ultrasound, an incurable STD, a child, AIDS, or some combination there of, to remind her of that advice for the rest of her life.

This won't be last time we'll hear about something bad happening on Wertland. Ok, how long before some idiot asks what I plan to do?

Who is going to pay for the police investigating this assault? If we had a picture they might have already apprehended the suspect. You don't have to 'monitor' the camera until there is an incident. Think about this; cameras can be a deterrent to crime in the first place (a lot of assaults and thefts in that area), and once installed, don't have to worry about overtime, retirement pay, donut creep...
You are totally clueless, lets just put up camera's everywhere. Someone has to monitor, maintain and then call the police. So now you have to pay for monitoring, maintenance and guess what the police still have to respond. Your big brother watching approach is just another way to create a bigger government.

"or some combination there of, to remind her of that advice for the rest of her life."

You just placed more blame on the victim than you say I did. I only mentioned that there are things "people" can do to lessen the risks of assaults you specifically singled her out to listen to; which you referred to as "good advice".

There is a huge difference between consequences and blame or advice...HUGE. I placed no blame what so ever, I simply pointed out that the question is or was at best superfluous.

Thanks for proving my point. There is also an even larger difference between "There are things PEOPLE can do" and if I would have said "there are things that 17 year old girl could have done".

That didn't prove your point. I give you too much credit. Is that how you debate, did you get your debating skills from the lol school of pat?
