The honorable thing to do if he did not agree with the Board of Visitors. Good people can disagree. I wish him well.

Now if Gov. McDonnell will drop a house on Dragas we can all join together in a Verse of "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead". Governor, it is time for you to remove the real culprit in this conspiracy by showing Dragas the door. Then and only then will the healing of the University and the community begin! Dragas has got to go!

I appreciate that Mr. Kington is protesting by submitting his resignation. Sadly, he's not the one who should resign. Ms. Dragas must go.

Put your striped socks on, Dragas, in case that house is comin'. Maybe Goldman Sachs will give you a job managing their online university program?

Kington was Dragas' sidekick in all this and was one of the three at the so-called 'emergency meeting" that accepted Sullivan's resignation. I appreciate that he has the integrity to resign, as he has helped sully the reputation of UVA through this process. It is the only honorable course for him at this point. We are all waiting for Dragas to show a shred of integrity and do likewise.

Dragass isn't going anwyhere. She's at the top of the hill issuing orders and ultimatums, and that is where she plans to stay. The only perwson who can pee in her cheerios is McConell. And that isn't going to happen.

The right thing to do now, which would facilitate the healing process, would be for McDonnell to appoint a faculty member (and NOT someone from Darden) as a full voting member of the BOV, rather than yet another bean counter. THAT would be 'strategic dynamism', but i'm not holding my breath.

Too little, too late. Irrepairable damage has been done.

Remember the Faculty Senate resolution from earlier this week and um, the big protest? Perhaps it would of been better had you resigned before rendering your vote in the dead of night. Talk about strategic dynamism....

Kington did not lead the charge; his exit will not change the course as we would like. This coup cannot be righted as long as Dragas is running the show.

Mr. Kington is doing the right thing, although he's already responsible for massive damage to the university.

His departure from the Board, however, focuses all spotlights directly on Ms. Dragas, the rector and by all accounts the chief architect of this disaster. What is her justification for not stepping down, when the vice-rector has already admitted his mistake and left? Surely she--as rector--bears full responsibility for the actions she has undertaken. Mr. Kington helped her, but she was the head of the board and therefore bears full responsibility.

Dragas has demonstrated nothing but incompetent (or perhaps corrupt) management skills, so she can't possibly do any good for the university by staying. She can only be serving her own vanity.

Now if the Dragon Lady would resign as well, perhaps UVa could move forward with some integrity. Perhaps the governor would consider appointing some actual educators to the BOV next time around.

Good people can disagree, like Teresa Sullivan. And that's a "Good Thing".
