"lights, locks and security systems" are no match for gunfire. In fact, none of them prevent or protect against them at all. I'm not a gun nut, so don't think I'm saying "but a gun and kill all criminals", I'm just saying people need to stop thinking that locks, lights and alarms keep them safe. I can tell you they don't.
I'm not going to suggest what you should do to protect yourself or your family. All of the things above can help, but only for unmotivated criminals.

Opps, "buy a gun" not "but a gun".

With the price and shortage of ammo, you would think they would take time to aim a little!

Crazy agenda, like stopping the violence.

With recent 2-line deep customers at the firearms counters, prepare to read about them indeed.

10 bullets?! If we already had a magazine limit in effect, I bet this guy would have only fired... 10 times. Because knowing this part of town it's likely an illegal gun in the first place, and criminals don't care if their carrying illegal weapons.

I am a property manager in Charlottesville and let me tell you this is not news. Stray bullets hit homes all of the time on a disturbingly regular basis in this town. It probably made news because of how many shots were fired and the fact that a disturbance was called in prior to the shooting.

Shots fired in the evening are a daily occurrence in the Prospect Ave vicinity. Black cowboys. The news media follows the city's directive by not letting us become aware of these activities as an image has to be protected.

Charlottesville is becoming one of the worst places to live because of the "younger people." I know there's bad people everywhere, but damn..This is becoming outrageous!

The dems want you to believe that we can all live in utopia. You will never stop violence, hopefully you can lessen violence. Check out what goes on in Russia, China, they don't have guns, but use other instruments, knives, hands. America's borders are very porous and easy for guns to be bought into this country. It is well known that there are terrorists cells in the U.S. who are intent on killing Americans. Personally when they come to my door I want the biggest gun with as much ammo to protect myself, my family and friends. This Administration's failing foreign policy doesn't give me much confidence that they can protect it's citizens.
