The temptation is there when you have women locked up for years and men that are there day in and day out. In addition a lot of women are afraid of authority and therefore very easy to convience. I dont buy that if inmates were afraid of authority they wouldnt be in prison.

I am shocked because he has been a really good officer of rank and very serious about his job. Though inmates are very manipulative and tricky--NO staff should be crossing that line with inmates. I can't believe it!! I agree with you Bland were very serious about his job,I also work with him I only can wonder if he were set up.

only god can judge wrote: First off don't judge nobody because you're not perfect yourself. None of yall was there when it all went there unless you're an officer that's still there now. Ex inmate or whatever you release so you can't speak on nothing that's going on now. Unless you want to get lock up again and find out what really happened. And yes there is female&female relationships there. Some people get caught up in the wrong stuff. If he did do it then it'll come out when it goes to trial until then everybody live your life and stop judging ppl. You never know one day something you think won't happen to you will. Not this just anything in general Love your comment!!!!! I agree 110%,you covered everything.

I used to work at Fluvanna. I knew Lt. Bland. He was a nice guy that did a really dumb thing. This type of thing happens alot at both female and male institutions and its really sad. It usually starts with the inmates trying to "entice" the staff in hopes of getting special privelages, breaks for offenses on they've committed while locked up. Some may think, or be lead to think, they can get time knocked of thier sentence or in some cases, and this can happen, moved from a certain cell, building or even a different facilility. Then there are those who do it with the intention of making it public later and suing the the DOC and person responsible. Yes, its been done. She got pregnant in another institution and was sent to Fluvanna. Made it very well known of her intentions and what she was going to do and why. The prison can't be employed by all women for various reasons. 1. its discrimination 2. some of these women are built like men, even bigger. facial hair and all. they've even killed a few men. 3. it wouldn't stop sexual misconduct anyway. like tmc said, there are many women staff that might engage in sexual misconduct with the inmates. There are some really good officers there, but there are quite a few that make those good ones look really, really bad.

There were so many other people I thought it could have been before him when I heard about a "prison guard" arrested. Hell, I would have thought his brother before him. Its hard to imagine him needing to do this. Major Gee on the other hand, I just felt creepy around him and could see him screwing the inmates and promising them the moon for it. There was another Lieutenant whose name I can't remember, he always flirted with the inmates and I never understood how he kept his job.

some criminals do tell the truth, prosecutors, judges, cops and attorneys lie too. they are not all masculine and they dont all claim to be innocent! my daughter will straight up tell you that she shot her abusive husband at point blank range in the forehead. no lies no "im innocent".
