That is a joke that is all you get for taking someones life?? And look of course they are mexicans once again THEY ALL NEED TO BE SHIPPED BACK!!!!!!!!!! That is why the economy is like it is because we are paying for them to be here. SEND THEM BACK!!!!!!! Are they even LEGAL??
I wonder if that's how the Native Americans feel about "euro-americans." I served with a couple of guys that looked not much unlike them in color and they could trace their heritage back to where they lived in Texas before Texas was even a state. I don't know the facts of the case, but assuming they got one year, it was for failure to report an accident. If someone walked out in front of you, not fault of your own, should you get life in prison?(Do you believe that the police investigators did their jobs, or that the prosecution would attempt to get a conviction of at least manslaughter if they thought they were guilty?)

Another justice system joke. One year? Are you kidding me? Probably illegals and, more likely, probably drunk when they hit her.

Does anyone else smell BS?

Why does someone always have to add Obama to any story? He had nothing to do with this! Just remember, they might be under the care of Romney in a few months, Tex.
I agree with you on one point. If they are illegals, then send them back to Mexico! Why should we have to deal with them in our prisons?
But people, stop adding Obama's name to every post. You're looking stupid!

It's gotta be somebody's fault.

Hopefully next year we can begin blaming Obama for the following 3+ years for the country's problem.

Illegal immigration and the Obama administration are connected. Whether or not these guys are illegal, I don't know, I didn't post that comment. If you are still unclear about the connection, look up Arizona's Governor and the issues she has faced for the past 3 years.

You hit someone with your car, leave them there to die like a piece of garbage and you only get one year?! Even if it was the pedestrian's fault, you should stop, call 911 and maybe, just maybe, if these guys called for help, she might be alive today.

This reporter took the lazy way out, and simply supplied the outcome of a trial without giving any of the evidence presented, or a judge's or jury's reasoning for these sentences. WHY were these particular sentences imposed? We can assume, guess, and infer all we like, complain about possibly related issues, and conjecture what the sentence implied, but this reporting of a decision still leaves us in the dark. Are there statistics that show that people don't read anything except the outcome? Is there some reason to change the rules of good journalism?

How can I approve or disapprove of the sentence if I don't know the details of the case? I know how the judicial process works, and certainly sometimes justice is blind.
.
I do not doubt, though, that the police investigators and prosecutors investigated this case and went after the max allowed by law whether these guys were innocent or not.

Coneected perhaps, but not in the way you think.

Under Obama, deportations are at record levels - well beyond those under Bush and his other predecessors in office.

Last year the Obama administration deported about 400,000. Under Bush in 2004, that figure was about 180,000. If you're wondering why the number of illegal immigrants is so high, it's because the previous republic president did a poor job of securing the border and an even worse job of removing immigrants once they'd crossed it.

What the H#@&%! Feed and shelter them for a year and let them out. They had better move on southwest after that. Still want to know why they were in that neck of the woods, being from Harrisonburg and all.

Gee, I had no idea that illegal immigrants just started sneaking into the U.S. in the past FOUR YEARS! Glad to know that had never happened before the current president was elected.

No...he will be blamed longer than that. He consistently blames Bush and it is going to take this country forever to recover from the largest spending problem.

Now that I have commented to your post...lets get back on topic. This is a real shame if they are truly guilty, not a plea bargain. If they are illegals, their time in the slammer won't affect them when they come out to get another job. True shame.
