Some folks just never grow up and continue to find happiness as they make others smile!! There should be a little of that in each of us!! Love it!!

I take my kids every year too - it's a great local Christmas tradition.

If there were enough homes to do a "tacky light tour", this would be the #1 stop.

Then sentiment behind the lights is admirable, but you folks don't have to live next to this.... all the light and music... it's an overload.

There is no sentiment behind the lights. The sole purpose is to satisfy the need to become a public spectacle. The meaning of Christmas is completely lost in this carnival atmosphere.

I AM NOT A SCROOGE! It's my favorite time of the whole year. I choose to celebrate in a more reverent method and certainly don't make a vulgar public display of Christ's birth celebration.

Sorry but the lights to me reflects the star that led them to Bethlehem the night jesus was born...Lights shine bright as our life should be shining bright to everyone we meet.sorry

I saw some negative "judging" for your comment and wanted to explain that the "tacky light tour" does not accurately describe the list of locations it contains. While some view outdoor Christmas lights as "tacky" -- the list actually highlights the most elaborate and spectacular sights in a given city. Check it out: http://albemarlelimousine.com/2012/11/13/char...

I do not believe you were being critical, and think those who judged you didn't realize that the lists are nationwide and those who like to view the lights seek the lists out so they don't miss out.

While this man does have a nativity scene within his display, I see your point -- the same could be said about the commercialization of this sacred holiday. However, I think folks just want to remember the child-like joy of the season, and to make people forget for a moment all their troubles. If this man brings happiness to others by setting up his lights and stuff, and the kids apparently love it, who are we to judge? I am thankful he is sharing with the community and that kids get to enjoy it.

I tend to agree with you, Heh. An ostentatious display but not one hungry child fed as a result. Which is more in line with the meaning and intent of Christmas?

ok...we could work together. I don't get too involved in feeding but many many opportunities to give coats, shoes, and toys.
