Thanks for posting this, Linguist! It's nice to know that sanity still has some influence in Pennsylvania.

That's rediculous about PA!!!! Why would you outlaw so many divorces? "Stay together for the kids" has been proven to be a harmful idea, and outlawing the ability of a couple to divorce if they no longer feel their relationship is healthy is rediculous!

It was a strategy used to show how ridiculous banning same-gender marriage is by introducing an equally ridiculous amendment to the bill.

yes, we are not to judge, but we can warn. God did not intend man and man to lay together.
If you are God fearing, it does mention it is not right.

In the dictionary the meaning of marriage was the joining of man and woman. Marriage between the same sex where is that stated in the dictionary. I think not using the
word marriage would make the decision of uniting two of the same
sex, or partnership would be better
accept by most. They are law abiding
citzens they should be able to be
given the same laws as those who are married. What we expect from married couples behavior should be
the same for them.

The dictionary doesn't tell us how to use words, it shows how words are used in society, as such the dictionary changes as society does. Of all the arguments against marriage equality, the dictionary definition argument is the weakest one out there (not that they're all pretty weak).

You're right, God doesn't make mistakes, it's anti-gay bigots like you that make mistakes in not recognizing the basic humanity of all people, including gay people.

Haha. That is hilarious, but I'm not sure how letting gays marry each other would translate to you footing the bill for them porking. How exactly would that work?

why should anyone enjoy less rights than you are entitled too? because you think so? i know a couple whove been together 35 years, how is their union any less valid than a marriage...is britney spears 55 hour marriage a better example of marriage than these two men? and if you have to resort to a religious argument , than that is really lame....
Randal wrote:
It is proof that we are living in a sick Liberal world that this is even being considered. Can anyone imagine us even discussing legalizing gay marriage 40 years ago? 20 years ago? 10 years ago? The population has been conditioned to the point of seeing this as something possible now.
Lib activists always push too far and they implement the incremental Slippery Slope to do it. First it was tolerate gays… then it was accept gays… then it was celebrate Gay and force feed it to school children as just another fine and dandy lifestyle… pro-gay propaganda movies… then Gayborhoods and gay liaisons… then came the demands… benefits… now gay marriage.
Gays should just be thankful for all the progress they have enjoyed, that they are no longer publicly ridiculed and killed and leave it at that.

As if it's not hard enough to grow up gay in a world of bible thumping freaks like you, your "final solution" is to have these folks pretend they are straight? So I guess lying about who you are is better then banging someone the same sex as you. If you can convince me that makes sense, I'll come over and paint your entire house with only my schlong.

ahh, I see what you're saying, but I think you should be a bit more outraged by people who are defrauding the gov't with welfare claims then a law-abiding buttlover that wants to be married.

So, what you're saying is that your tax dollars would go to paying Social Security survivor benefits for homosexual widow(er)s.

Does that mean you'd support them *not* paying into Social Security (but still collecting it), because their paying supports survivor benefits for people that can marry?
