Dear Ms. Malcolm -
Someone once said "A woman will be elected president when women vote for one" ... shame on you for letting your doubts get in the way of voting for a good decent, well qualified candidate.

I don't know if it's Topix or the Herald who gets threads mixed up but, for anyone who cares, the first post is in respomse to a 'letter to the editor' and has nothing to do with the death of Anthony Minghella...The "Full Story" box will take you to the letter..The mixup on threads seems to happen now and then..It get confusing...lol.. |

Thanks for the heads-up! I've asked Topix to look into the problem. |

I am thrilled to learn that "Rep. Sam Farr, D-Carmel, values wilderness by the books he has for visitors to browse—"Wild by Law," "Witness" (endangered species photographic exhibit, Changing Estuaries (Elkhorn Slough)— to the framed photographs on the office walls of Big Sur in a vibrant spring green."
I hope that once Elkhorn Slough & the Big Sur Coast is drenched in concentrated Checkmate, he will realize that he should not have respected farm money more than our precious environment & citizens. |

There is no argument against the value of "precious environment & citizens". I would also point out that it's the farms who feed "our precious citizens" and there is less and less acreage upon which to provide food for our citizens, not to mention that which we send to feed other countries..The issue should be, how to create and maintain a balance of environmental protection and, at the same time, preserve our ability to feed the population which is dependant upon us. Yes there is money wasted. We all know that. It's government and it will always be a problem. |
