Like I'm going to listen to a hypocrite: Limbaugh said drugs addicts should be jailed . . . except when HE's the addict getting drugs illegally and popping those illegal pills like a madman. This talking trash is everything that is wrong with humanity.

Frank: "We Are Trying On Every Front To Increase The Role Of Government

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2009/1...

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) says Democrats are "trying on every front to increase the role of government."

more at realclearpolitics.com ...

----------

A new bill in Congress to increase financial regulation would allow the federal government to seize institutions deemed “too big to fail” if Treasury saw a large enough risk of collapse. McClatchy reports that some on Capitol Hill have begun to refer to it as a “death panel” for banks, apparently more as a joke than a concern. Have any of them actually read the Constitution, especially the Fifth Amendment? Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, worked over the weekend and throughout Monday to draft the legislation.

This looks less like a voluntary association and more like a government takeover of the financial industry. Investors do not get guarantees when they give their money to firms like Goldman Sachs. They put their money into these accounts because of the risk and potential reward, not with an expectation of instant liquidity and safety. These are calculated gambles, intended to generate higher profits than savings accounts.

That doesn’t mean that the government has no role in regulating investor activities, perhaps especially on derivatives. But there is a big difference between sensible and productive regulation to sustain investor confidence and the outright seizure of firms from their owners for nothing more than incompetence. Incompetence in business has a solution — bankruptcy, and the freeing of resources for other efforts. It should not be the job of government “death panels” to decide when to seize a private business from its owners — and the Constitution made that plain enough 220 years ago.

It doesn't matter who said it - Limbaugh's message is correct. Obama is ill-prepared to lead and without experience. "As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, but that America gave him the White House based on the same credentials." -- Newt Gingrich

"I think he's got an out-of-this-world ego. He's very narcissistic. And he's able to focus all attention on him all the time. That description is simply a way to cut through the noise and say he's immature, inexperienced, in over his head," Limbaugh said.

Rushie couldn't have described himself better with those statements even though he was talking about someone else!

I watched the interview & agree with everything Limbaugh said. Yes, I watch the Fox newschannel on a regular basis & don't have a problem telling the whole world!

In regards to Obama, he too is an entertainer. Unfortunately, he is not paid to be one & is not at all entertaining.

I say a prayer every night that he is not re-elected. Oh yeah, is it still ok to pray to God in my own home?

I so loved the quote from Newt Gingrich. Truer words were never spoken.

This is nothing new. This is what those of us who oppose healthcare reform have known all along. It is the belief that healthcare reform has almost nothing to do with caring about the healthcare of this country. It has everything to do with seizing a major portion of the economy, and the subsequent can of worms it will open and government regulations that will follow, not to mention the taxpayer money.

So for those of you who want to spew your hatred about Rush Limbaugh, feel free. It doesn't make the message incorrect.

Yes, in your own bedroom with the door closed and if you're under your bed. Whatever you do, don't mention it on Topix ;)

What doesn't Obama pray? Because he can't read his teleprompter with his eyes closed.

To many people, the truth always hurts. Some of us were able to tell that Obama was full of hot air & cr--, so are not the least bit surprised at what is happening in our country. I just say a prayer that we survive Obama, Pelosi, Reid & company!

"coverage numbers are finally in: Two percent"

According to the Associated Press, this is what completely taking over the health care industry accomplishes. AP is not exactly a mouthpiece for the Republicans and even THEY admit healthcare pubic option is a farce that only fools believe in.

Too late. I already told the whole world that I believe in God.

Like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity & others from Fox News, I am NOT afraid of Big Brother & will continue to speak my mind! Hope others continue to do so where it really matters - such as the next election.

Alright, someone's gotta ask, so I'll be the patsy...

What exactly is Rush lying about in this situation? I'm all about the truth, so explain how Obama really truly just wants all of us to be able have the best healthcare in the world and an affordable cost. Prove that he is not the least bit interested in seizing this portion of the economy, impose more regulation, put insurance companies and other businesses out of business, control behavior of the general public, strip individuals and businesses out of more of their hard-earned money, and of course, has no interest in "spreading the wealth." Provide the links, etc. I'll be patienty waiting.
