Birds and small critters cause power outages too... should we outlaw them also? What about automobiles that hit poles? When will the madness in California stop?

Back in the 50's PGE stated that flying kites around power lines was a problem for electric outages. Hmmm... Kites were the problem then... now it is Balloons... Are kites also being outlawed? Come on Senator Scott don't you have anything better to do than to spend tax money on a bill to ban balloon's,,, Maybe a senate bill to outlaw bird nest on power poles will be next.

Surprising as it may be to some small-minded people, balloons are human products, unlike animals. Balloons can be easily controlled, and without even stopping production of the balloons. Just don't put lighter-than-air gas in them; tie them to sticks instead, which will hold them aloft. People could still have their foil balloons and they would cause far less power outages than helium-filled ones.

If all the other stores in California would abide by the law already set in place we wouldn't be having this discussion.

As to tying them to sticks that would be an alternative but doesn't that still put more things into our landfills?

Here in our shop we try to recycle or reuse as many of the foil balloons as possible.
Did you know that a helium filled foil balloon can be cut and used for the pages in a scrapbook, that we can then use previously inflated foils for weight covers for other bouquets, that the foil can be reused for creating custom made centerpieces?

cars cause power outages when they collide with power poles, let ban cars while we're at it.

"Small-minded people"? You must have been asleep in debate class when they discussed fallacies.

Tim, you slept through the section on argument. Now, can you address the points I made, or will you focus impotently on an adjectival phrase? Also, please unload your assertion, if you can (which I doubt).

Oh marie, such fine circumlocution on your part, but I've no interest in your argument. Oh BTW, my assertion is always locked, and loaded... ooh-rah!
