Schwarzenegger challenges automakers to meet Calif. rules

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday said pressure from the auto industry will not deter California from attempting to impose strict emission rules for vehicles sold in the state.

We challenge industry to clean up yet we are lighting up our fireplaces and stoves without any pollution control systems in places. We burn millions tons of firewood and charcoal. Doesnt they count?

Mountain towns stench of firewood smoke how can they breath up there??

more and more homeowners are turning to firewood to save money as utility bills went up with too much expenses on layers and layers of meaningless pollution control systems. Why dont we regulate firewood and charocaol for pollution?? Oh homeowners are not under industry.....so they are excused .... what a way of thinking??

we got to start owning up to the fact that firewood and charcoal is the worst pollutant of all by far!!! sure news shows are starting to have firewood warning alerts but still lame ... we need pollution controls on firewood and charcoal first above of all!! also home mechanics earning livings fixing cars for others . they hook a hose to the muffler and direct the exhaust into other neighbor's air space not theirs..

homeowners also use portable generators to save on utility bills. Neighoborhoods are so polluted with all those above where is the regulations?? oh it cover the highwasy only... nothign about neighborhoods, Duh/

Gov Arnold save your hot air... you need it to heat your mansion... forget firewood !! turn off your thermostat. put on thermal clothes. drive a fuel miser not a hummer..we can build bigger cars with aluminium for big folks like yourself... Those are things thaht make sense..
