I don't blame the City of Oroville for not allowing these so called Taco Wagons within the city limits. They are an eyesore to the community, especially this one, with it's location, next to another real eyesore, the used appliance junk yard. Any food that is prepared and openly exposed to outside environs is very unhealthy, and presents all kinds of potential health risks. Most of these Taco Wagons are very unsanitary with no Restroom facilities for the operators nor their patrons, and I don't understand why the Butte County Board of Health, or the state of California allows any of them to operate anywhere. Where is she going relocate to when the real Mexican Resturant opens next door? Maybe she can park outside another fine estblishment, such as the Notty Room. Yeah this is exactly the type of establishment Oroville and Thermalito needs to entice other businesses to this area. Maybe we can get a Hotdog stand on Oro Dam Blvd accross for the Wal-Mart.

It's a shame that the city of Oroville doesn't allow mobile food vendors. Sacramento has quite a few, and they are very convenient. San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose also allow them, and they add haracter to those cities. It's great that the County Board of Supervisors is so forward thinking and in tune with the times!

Fantastic!! Really good, great, honest ethnic food. I really enjoy eating the food from these carts, and from the nice ladies that sell homemade food in the local bars downtown!

Well Wally, they have a sink to wash their hands in the truck. Really I have no idea where they go to the bathroom and frankly I don’t care. They probably use the one next to the where they park the truck for the day. You make is seem like they go outside the truck or something we are all civilized humans and use bathrooms. If you’re so concerned just don’t eat there I really don’t think you are going to be a loss to any food trucks. They are in food business and they last thing they want to get someone sick or get a bad reputation for being dirty. I think most food truck operations take great pride in their trucks and pride themselves on being clean. Also you can look in the truck and see what’s happing in the truck. Really Wally, who knows if any kitchen staff washes their hands on a regular basis, we’d probably be surprised by that stat.

I take pride in the fact that I grew up in Oroville. However, I am ashamed in the posts that I've just read (on both sides on the spectrum). I mean its a Taco Truck, how did it turn into person bashing and a race issue?

Everybody has their opinions about the taco truck and that is fine But the business they are next too I agree used to be quite a mess. But the young men who run it now have done in my opinion a fine job in cleaning it up. They are hard working americans making a living. I have had my appliance repaired there and will continue to do so. They are trying hard to keep up with the people who dump appliances on them so they dont have to pay to dispose of it themselves. They have to pay to have other peoples junk hauled off. Which cuts into there profit which is made to support their families. And as for the taco truck its nice having a taco while having my appliance repaired.

Wally, your assumptions are for the most part completely untrue and unfounded on evidence of any sort. Did you know that in Los Angeles and San Francisco, two places with LOTS of taco trucks (often the only food available for night-time service workers, who probably don't merit much attention in your worldview), not a single truck has ever been cited for healthcode violations, even though almost all are licensed and inspected more often than restaurants? There are a lot of reasons for this, the principal one being that these trucks are owner-operated, and thus the staff have a much larger stake in cleanliness than a minimum wage employee. The reason they don't have vermin or insect problems is that they are cleaned out every night, and garbage/food doesn't sit around for days on end. And, of course, the cooking areas are visible to the public - nothing keeps your kitchen clean like that.

I can guarantee you that 99% of the taco trucks in the state are far cleaner than most of the taquerias! Your thinly-veiled anti-Capitalist / anti-immigrant views don't fool anybody. I've actually read a thousand health reports, at least, as part of my job, and I can tell you without a doubt that these vendors use better ingredients and keep better stores than the vast majority of the restaurants I've inspected.

If you try a few of the food vendors here, and I mean actually give them a chance:

http://www.yumtacos.com/

I think you'll be blown away by their cleanliness, quality of ingredients, and general taste. They provide a needed public service to the areas they serve when higher-overhead restaurants are unable to, bringing food to the people who do your dirty work. Nobody is making you eat at them, but I think if you do, you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Food for thought
