I feel for those who loved Samuel. I acknowledge that the burden of losing him was compounded by the revelation that he was a cold-blooded murderer. I’m sure it was made worse by learning that this wasn’t his first homicide. The fact is that both acts were atrocious. The fact that he lacked the moral fiber that would prevent most people from harming a child, the fact that he was capable of not only murdering two young women, but of BLUDGEONING two innocent babies to death, dehumanizes him in most eyes. I can feel where you’re coming from as far as the right to grieve for those he left behind. However, you have to accept that people say callous things when they’re grieving. Their minds are not on your feelings or right to say goodbye, they are on the innocent lives of their loved ones taken cruelly from them. And I think that’s pretty understandable. And I think they don’t need or deserve the burden of your expectations right now. I think their pain is greater. It is hard to lose a loved one to suicide, I’ve been there. However, it is more difficult to have a loved one ROBBED from you at a young age, in a cruel manner. They didn’t have a choice in their death and they didn’t get the mercy of a quick shotgun blast. Compassion tends to lean more towards victims than villains. Unfortunately, those who loved the villain and were unaware of his dark side face the frustration and heartache of the anger and pain of those who were victimized by his crimes.

I’m sorry you lost your friend, but I can tell you this…..had I been friends with Ted Bundy, I’d have lost any loyalty or love in the second I realized the monster he was. I’m sure even serial killers have their bright points, but the fact is that their crimes reveal who they really are and that you were merely hoodwinked by a façade.

HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE NOT AT FAULT FOR ANYTHING THAT HE HAS DONE.. IF ANY THING WE ARE GUILTY FOR LOVING HIM AND CARING FOR HIM.. SOMETIMES THAT IS NOT ENOUGH.. THE ONLY PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE DEATHS BESIDES SAMMY ARE IS THE PEICE OF **** SYSTEM WE HAVE. CAUSE THEY KNEW HIS DNA MATCHED THAT GIRLS BEFORE THEY LET HIM OUT OF PRISON.. WHEN THE COPS WERE RUNNING AROUND SUPPOSEDLY LOOKING FOR HIM THEY NEVER SAID HE WAS WANTED FOR MURDER. You tell his children that their father was a loving individual who was just misunderstood. and the fact that he murdered women and children was the fault of the police. It makes me sad to read all these comments on an article that talks about my friends funeral if any of you knew lea this is not what she would want, you all talk about what an evil person sam was but the truth is What HE DID was EVIL why he did it we will never know but deep down he must have been a nice person because why else would lea have let him into her life. we need to stop pointing fingers what is done is done nothing will bring lea and her children back and no one will ever know why this happened. we who loved lea are trying to grieve if you can't seem to leave heartfelt comments to help the grieving process then just don't leave comments at all. My Heart goes out to samuel family because they did not do anything but everyone makes it seem like they did. I will pray for his family and his children as i hope you all will too.

who knows if he killed that girl a long time ago the police didn't think DNA was enough to hold him in prison and they didn't look to hard for him so maybe there is more to the story then any one realizes. I don't know the story about the girl but i heard her brother was killed too maybe the deaths are connected who knows all I was trying to say is this should be about LEA not the man who killed her. If you guys knew anything about her you would know what I am talking about. Maybe people need to look into more then what they read in the papers.
