Full story: Long Beach Press-Telegram

As a retired physician, I'm concerned about President Obama's efforts to change the present health care system to one that is totally managed by government departments.

The way I read the definitions, a rebellion is a group of individuals defiant, resistant, and opposed to an authority or an established government. A revolution is a complete radical change in government by way of being overthrown.

I wouldn't say a rebellion by definition is essentially unsuccessful. Rebellions can be active for many, many years before their revolution comes to fruition.

In the United States, many "rebellions" are among us. There are those who believe in Anarchism. Real Anarchism. Those who believe in abolishing the Federal Reserve have been actively participating in a rebellion for decades. Those who see the Constitution as the document we should be following are essentially a rebellion in these modern days, as our current leaders dismiss the Constitution as a nuisance and roadblock for legislation.

All of these rebellions are working for their goal of revolution. As time goes by and things get worse, the likelihood of a revolution happening by one of these groups becomes greater and greater.

Blame the media hype surrounding Obama that has created the "rock star" image of his presidency.

Suddenly, TMZ has paparazzi crews in Washington DC, asking politicians stupid meaningless questions.

Entertainment Tonight did cover story after cover story on Obama after he won the presidency.

You didn't see this with Bush and granted the media loved Clinton, there was never this much hype around his presidency.

You see hip hop clothing stores selling shirts with Obama's face to black youth, as it's now the "cool" thing to wear...

The controlled media has to hype him up because it's going to give him more time to screw up. If the public likes his personality...the "human" side of Obama, this will keep the public at bay. Or at least temporarily distracted from the fact he's duped them into believing he was going to make good of his promises.

Polls show that the people like Obama as a "personality" but don't like all of his polices. In order to keep his approval ratings up, they need to sell his "image".

They (the mainstream media) knows the public don't dig deep when it comes to politics, so they need to sell the people his image and personality.

It's like how MTV sells music. It's usually crap music but the PR / Marketing side of things keep the public lapping it up. Buy the collectible plates...buy the collectible coins...sell the image of "quality".

The public will never know.

Mr. Hall states "However, there are "undocumented immigrants," but no person is "illegal," in my opinion. "

In my opinion, there are three classes of people in the USA. Citizens of this country; legal visitors such as tourists and those who have immigrated legally to this country. The rest are invaders of a country that is not its own. The invaders have violated our laws and are criminals. Criminal behavior should NEVER be rewarded. Send the invaders home, close the border and NO amnesty. Children born of illegal invaders on USA soil should not be granted citizenship and should be sent back to the parent's country of origin.

For those with short memories we have already done amnesty and it doesn't work. Amnesty only encourages the invaders to continue their illegal invasion of my country. Sound mean spirited? Too bad. I would rather not have to pay taxes and burden my children and grandchildren paying for all the public services, such as school, medical care, welfare, etc. stolen by that invading horde.

Clean out the illegals first and then we can talk reasonable immigration.

Seems like David L. Wood, M.D. is worried that a public option will lead to "rationing" of care, but we already ration care by who can afford it. Shouldn't we treat people need it instead of telling them they must die from their lack of money?

It is fascinating to watch democrats trumpet the party line, and blindly play follow the leader, regardless of the the results.(The Bush republicans did, and continue to do, the same thing.) Party politics, and it's lying, thieving politicians, have raped and pillaged this country. Seems as if many Americans are more interested in being on the winning side, than in any substantial change. Administrations change, politicians do not.

A perfect example is this story about the Bush administration illegal warentless surveillance program. Nancy Pelosi was told about the program 17 times...

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/07/10/bush.s...

Like you, I don't understand how supporters of either party can sit pretty as they lie and deceive their constituents. Especially the democrats. They won control of Congress in '06 on the promise of holding the Bush administration accountable and ending the war in Iraq...and they turned around and did the complete opposite. Then Obama runs on a platform of transparency, accountability and overall "change" and again, does the complete opposite.

All while the majority of democratic supporters sit around and say "well, it's better than Bush."

Stupid is as stupid does I guess...

According to the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment, one is only illegal upon being convicted during a fair trial in a court of law: the due process clause. The 14th also guarantees equal protection under the law for every human being on U.S. soil.

Change the Constitution or quit your whining.
